Get everything to level 15! At the bare minimum you'll want to get Weaver, Alchemist, and Goldsmith up to 15 for their skills. Armorer is another good one to get to 15 for Rapid Synthesis.

Absolutely level Botany alongside it, you WILL need a bunch of ingredients and people only sell that in huge annoying stacks of 99 when you really only need like 3 or 4 maybe. I didn't touch Botany until I was nearly 60 and I sort of regret it, but I did take Fishing which helped in other ways, just not nearly as much.

It was my first crafter I got to 60, and I don't regret it at all. Good money to be made if you're patient and can find a niche market to sell into. I made made about a mil off Beef Stew before other people picked up on it and flooded that market.
Prepare to have your retainer clogged full of random ingredients though.

My Whisper A-go-go legitimately pisses people off and I love it.

I love Thornmarch HM as a tank. Mostly as a WAR because I just grab the entire group in the second phase and don't let anything go. Works out more than it actually should
