Developing any car on the Nurburgring ruins it

>developing any car on the Nurburgring ruins it

Was he right?

No

May is love, May is life. He can never be wrong.

No, he said setting up a car to be quick at the nurburgring ruins it.

He was right in the sense that if that is the case, then the focus will inevitably be faster laptimes.

A fast car may not be a fun car to drive.

Depends on what car it is and what its intended customer group is

Developing the next Toyota HiLux or the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class to suit the Nurburgring would "ruin" it, as its then developed to work best in areas they won't ever be used in

This is why you develop cars on the Fuji Speedway and not on some Burger King track

Not if its only purpose was to race on the burgerkingring

>developed on Nurburgring
>unimpressive times on other tracks
>absolutely miserable ride quality
>will scrape on everything during daily driving

Nurburgring is a very unique layout and more like a backroad than a track
Idk why people hate it

>GTS
>absolutely miserable ride quality
This guy scraping on the bottom of ever barrel for a troll

Because it got hijacked by meme merchants.

If yer car ain't set up for Talladega, then it ain't set up. Shake 'n bake.

€.02 have been deposited into your account, BMW Heil

>measuring lap times in grams

>M4 GTS
>daily driving

The only people who can afford a GTS don't do any daily driving.

tayposter pls go

>developed on Nurburgring
>rides like a lexus

God the Giulia makes me so hard.
The fact that it's actually good as well is amazing.

Not him but for real what are all those "g"s representing?

g's

Gravitons

Lateral Geforces through the turn.
The higher the number the better, as that implies higher grip. Higher grip = higher mid-corner speed without sacrificing exit or entry speed.

>The fact that it's actually good as well is amazing.

>actually good
>implying Italiashit is ever good

>being this butthurt that a 4 door sedan is better than it's kraut rivals
wew

if james may got his fucking crooked tooth fixed he would be the perfect human being

I think it adds to his charm

Well, I've seen the nurburgerking on TV, and knw what real roads are like.
Real roads don't have a level surface, banked curves, room to take racing lines, or one-way traffic.
Real roads have potholes, bumps, white lines, manhole covers, speed bumps, and atrocious camber.
The nurburgerking isn't even used for F1 any more.

>slurping the Italian semen this much
lad, I...

Well he's a Brit, user. It's impossible for them to be human beings anyway.

>implying
It's a faster car, and it is prettier. I like it more, that's what I was saying.
Also, Manuel Gearbox.

>how dare people have teeth that aren't suitable for a toothpaste commercial
Do you expect us to get hand beauty surgery now, too?

The greatest cars are developed at Leipzig

No. Not for sports cars.

It's really bumpy and fast, with a lot of different radius corners. It's as close to a public road as you will get from a track. A car tuned there will be very well balanced and stable.

He is though
Great cars are developed on Tsukuba

yeah, because it's not made for the streets.

yeah great parking characteristics

>Tfw tsukuba is no longer in fm6
Like fuck your shit Forza the new tracks suck, one track from Italy and nothing from Japan. The fuck.

My friend that works for Porsche in development said the same thing. That if you really set it up for the ring, it isn't as good of a street car. I'm not sure why, as the ring is like a winding road, but maybe because of the long straights?

my v-spec nur felt better to drive after I replaced the suspension

Loose is fast

how does the gtr have the same lateral gs on turn 4 as it does on turn 8 when its blatantly sharper?

>faster car
it is 15 seconds slower than the GTS you dumb shit
and the M4 comes with a manual trans as well
and the giulias manual is actually shit

Japshitters BTFO

///M died after the e46

Depends on what you want out of a car. Cars made for fun and comfort are not gonna be at the Nurburgring.

and what about cars that aren't? why would they exist?

"Developed in the Nurburgring" has simply become a marketing tool for balding men with a mid life crisis and disposable income. Anyone with an ounce of automotive knowledge knows that developing a car to perform optimally in a setting that 99.9% of owners won't ever see is idiotic.

It's not that the cars are ruined per se, it's just that it doesn't make any fucking sense.

You can't optimize a car for lower skill levels.. either it's fast or it isn't.

Higher speed

you have to have passed highschool physics to post on this board

I miss when cars were developed for the touge.

May is right, developing things for Nuburgerking ruins them, even made the GT-R worse.

>M died after the E92
FTFY
The E92 M3 was pretty damn good
and stop typing ///M you cancerous autist

>Detests cars without any amenities
>Hates street legal cars that were track-made
>Adored the Zeno-whatever, and disliked the most luxurious Miata yet
Unless he had some weird dissonance going on, the scripting was almost believable. He seemed really into it.

for actual on road handling and ride quality?

Yes

For actual track work?

No

/thread

everyone go home

>comparing the performance luxury trim Giulia to the track version M4
Yes, this is a completely reasonable comparison

How autistic on a scale of 1 to 10 would you say you are?
I'd say you're pushing a solid 9.5 out of 10.

>Detests cars without any amenities

That's not true,he does reviews of barebones track cars and likes them fairly frequently, remember that Caterham?
