The story and characters are far better. Graphics and combat too obviously, but that is to be expected in a sequel.

Man, I loved Inquisition, but this is just plain wrong.

Meredith did nothing wrong.

With the mages being nothing more then medieval tumblrites, she did nothing wrong at all.

But it is RIGHT. Cassandra, Cole, Dorian, Solas are great characters. Meanwhile there is none in Origins that was good, maybe that Elf Rogue dude.

The story was also interesting in Inquisition with the whole Templars vs Mages, Corypheus. It becomes more interesting near the end when Morrigan gets introduced.

Origin's story? Go gather allies and kill Archdemon. Generic.

While DAI is just... gathering allies and killing Corypheus?

DAO had templars vs mages, dwarf politics/societal issues, human politics (in and out of Ferelden), slavery, elfshit, and more I'm probably forgetting. DAI has its own shit, sure, but not on the level that DAO does, because DAI forces you to be the hero a bit too much. Off the top of my head, something like letting the Inquisitor do with Clarel and the wardens what Branka did with the golems could have added some interesting story shit, but nah, you let one guy die and save everyone because it was Corypheus' evil plot corrupting them all along.

I will admit I forgot that Solas and Cole (and Viv) were interesting because it's been ages since I played, so I'll give you that one as DAI simply has more interesting characters. IMO Wynne, Zev, and Morrigan are all solid, with Alistair being the weakest of the DAO companions.

Keep an eye out for Mass Effect Andromeda. Andromeda will define DA4. If it's worse than Mass Effect 3, DA4 will be worse than Inquisition.
