You can also ditch slow heal. It was mildly justifiable before they halved the HP cost in the last balance patch. Spam potions if you're that desperate and The Only Actual Scythe Attack isn't healing you enough.

Painful Rapture and Devil Strike should get maxed. If you put points into Dark Authority take them out, it's only useful at level 1 as a hold.

And for clarification the grope to take points out of is the tiny grope you have at level 17 in the screenshot. Demonic Clutch (big grope) is one of Avenger's best skills and should be maxed.

You either need to read the description for Shadow Render or get hit less. Probably both. No way should you be burning through even close to your entire HP bar from Painful Rapture spam.

Without that I feel like I'll be short on low cooldown attacks I use it as my go-to basic attack combo ender

To be fair the skill tooltips are pretty shit, they don't tell you how much damage it does or what type

Thunder Mine, Shadow Render, and Spin Cutter are all you need for low cooldown attacks. With Painful Rapture leveled more you'll have no issue staying in Metamorphosis for most of a dungeon, so most of your damage is going to come from Devil Strike spam anyway. Those skills with your higher level ones are more than enough for that.

Click the option description tab when you click a skill. You dummy.

Noob here. What's the difference between season and non-season? Which one should I play?

Non-seasonal. Seasonal is just a different version which won't be around for much longer, enemies have higher health, mechanics are different, etc. You don't have enough time to earn any worthwhile rewards on seasonal if you're new and just starting.

In the skill window, the icons below the video box tells you what type of damage the skill does, and you the option description tells you the damage numbers. As for the hover tooltips, there's a key you can press that makes it expand and give more info. I don't know the default.
