Casters are terrible in a straight fight, not terrible all around (except for like one or two, for instance Geronimo has a skill that straight up says "is Caster but actually good in a fight"). You get someone to fight for them, they can thrive in support roles. That's why team formats like Apoc and GO are their realm.

In straight out combat, yes, they are the weakest but a lot of them have gimmicks that help them, like NR and Jabberwocky or Dumas and Sublimation.

You know how many AoE bossfights there are in events? Or the entirety of Babylon story? Not to mention she has both AoE and single target with crits and even supply stars with NP. To top it off an insanely good damage up skill that works against a massive number of targets.
