Quick question, how much story content is left by the time you hit level 50? I mean without including the heavensward stuff.

Quite a bit. There's five and a half patches to go through, and for the first 3-4 patches it's pretty much all just fetch quests that take forever to develop a real story.

Nice, I'm in the low-40's right now and already spent like 4ish days worth of straight playtime on the game. Pretty happy so far with the value I'm getting for my money on this game.

I'm new to this game and I have a couple questions about attribute points.

I want to level as a SMN and then maybe also play a little SCH later on. I read that they share attributes because of the base class being ACN, but how should I spend my attributes because of that?

Can you reset attributes at all?

Why do MMOs I play always land me in the middle of drama. I just wanna play video-games and not see people fight or have to pick sides for their problems. I like all my ingame friends and it hurts to always see this happen in MMOs.

if you continually find yourself surrounded by drama you aren't entirely blameless

I've been playing the game solo and having a blast.

The game does force you to make a party to go through specific dungeons, but it's not so bad. You can actually go through them without saying a word if you play your role in the party well and nobody dies

While much of the main story quests have you as the heap big MC, it's riddled with mandatory multiplayer dungeons and the like

yeah, but its a lot more fun endgame with friends
also stay away from xivgers

Oh, and to add on to the party dungeon bit, there is a "duty finder" that automatically pairs you up with other players looking for a party. So you don't even need to know anybody.

People who want to play MMOs as single player games killed this genre

It was a smashing success. Well worth the money I paid for the code.

You can basically do everything solo up until end-game Savage raiding and extreme primals. It's definitely more fun with friends to shoot the shit with while doing it, though.

It's more like other peoples' drama (that I had no idea of or saw coming) kinda just spilled into the fc chat and it turned into a sinking ship from there. Usually I try avoid people with bad attitudes or people that take games too seriously, but this kind of thing still ends up happening to me.
