Well then. That's fair enough, you're not forced to like them, or even consider them. In truth, a lot said about Chara is purely conjecture (and should remain that way without people preaching), which is why I and a lot of people like them. To try and interpret them, good and/or evil. However, they are neither part of the main cast nor really in the game outside of some vague recollection on the tapes, Asriel's dialogue and the corrupt thing you encounter at the end of genocide.

If I were you, given that you thoroughly dislike them, I'd just not bother. You don't have to.

As a charafag, I agree with you. Because they're nearly all dindu shit now, and I'd rather Chara was kept to specific tags (for ease at the very least). I preferred it when they were something interesting to try and interpret/work out, not the mascot.
