Poker thread, discussion on all areas of poker
What games are you playing?
How are they going?
Whats the online situation where you are?

All scams. You are playing against bots or employees when you think it's a real cash game.

Predictable post.

Played some 5 card draw poker against my ex last night over a few drinks. Walked away $5 richer

Pretty shitty scam if it allowed a semi-professional such as myself to turn a profit consistently.

what, in 2007? yeah you and everyone else

This is me. C'mon OP let's talk about poker

No, at that time you just had to not be a retard to turn a profit.

I did it on and off around 2011-2013. How harder can it be now?

I'd be considered with most of these sites being rigged.

Also it seems highly saturated, if anything you'd be likely better off just playing pickup live poker against some middleaged fatasses who don't give a hoot about losing some money when they're drunk.

If you were playing HU cash it's much harder now and PS only has 25/50 nowadays but still beatable. doing 2BB/100 this year

Also if anyones concerned about bots you really have no reason to be, I just received over $50 from a bot account who I had a winning record against anyway, on the main sites they are pretty good at detecting them.

what about rigging and so many pros these days

I play on Ipoker, 888 and stars, I personally don't believe any of those are rigged, some of the games might be a bit scammy but that's not really the same. And what's the problem with so many pro's? There are still so many fish lol.. You wanna play at the higher stakes you gotta work your way there.

jokerstars is as rigged as it gets

This is generaly what a bad player would say desu.. literally no proof, infact I have a DB with over 50'000 hands and over 3k profit, all seems pretty fair to me if you want me to query any of it I can.

Sorry man but I've seen quite a few videos on youtube that are a little bit too suspicious.

And honestly I wouldn't be surprised. There's literally no way to know that a poker site is rigged. I can totally see that as part of the business model.

Anyone can make a video to look suspicious so they don't feel so bad about their losses... I would literaly put my life savings on the PS card generation being completely random/ not rigged in anyway. Lets just leave the argument though, it'll go nowhere.

>Anyone can make a video to look suspicious so they don't feel so bad about their losses

There's quite a few and they provide significant proof.

I'm not saying it's definitive in any way. But the thing I AM saying is that it brings up concerns, given how you can never, ever know if it's rigged.

The videos I've seen have mostly just been a selection of similar suckouts or what conspricists see as rake builders, I've yet to see a large database that doesn't fall within expected standard deviations, and that is far more evidence than just a few hand histories.

agree to disagree, if it works for you - cool.

What are your thoughts however on live games? It seems it would be a lot easier to make money off balding drunk middleaged men locally.

Rake is higher and they don't have HU tables (no 2max I mean) in casinos near me (London) so I don't bother, best to play more hands online than a few over the table imo. Qualified and played in a UKIPT tourney a few years back though was pretty fun.

I was thinking just pickup games at peoples' homes locally.

I live in a relatively small town and there's regular poker games on meetup.com

Yeah the poker will be easier, playing cash is probably worth it tourneys definitley not.

You waste your time arguing with people who dont understand statistics. Pstars is running for what? 10 years? And no one has shown statistical proof of rigging... yet nubs cant shut up about it.

ive made 15k in a month playing just 1/2. ive probably made 60k in that year in total, not having ever played higher than 1/2. the dream is still alive, but only if you play live.

>the dream is still alive, but only if you play live.
opposite of this unless you're American. If the US can legalize again, and if RunItOnce is successful I can see a second huge boom happening.
