Does the US have an AWD equivalent to the GTR?

Does the US have an AWD equivalent to the GTR?

Emphasis on an advanced AWD system

AWD is just a crutch for bad engineering. The last time I checked F1 cars were RWD... I don't see them needing an "advanced AWD system"

You didn't answer the op though

Attesa-ETS is basically the gold standard for "advanced" systems.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ATTESA#ATTESA_E-TS_.28GT-R_version.29

I did. We don't need it because we know how to engineer and use RWD properly.

>I don't know how to answer questions

thanks for nothing, don't post next time

the answer is yes and the car, or no you fucking autist

AWD is banned from F1

when the 1st reply is an ignorant damage control statement you know its going to be good

Because it would just make them understeer and be more dangerous.

AWD a shit.

ARTICLE 9 : TRANSMISSION SYSTEM 9.1 Transmission types : No transmission system may permit more than two wheels to be driven.

I'm going to go out on a limb and make a wild ass guess that this isn't a new rule.

Confirmed -
In 1983 the FIA prohibited cars with four driven wheels from competing.

>t.gm fangirl

Isn't the new Charger AWD?

just like them audis in imsa right

>this is the best AWD car burgerfats can make

you really can't make this shit up

inb4 awd Hellcat in the future

the challenger gt might be a cuckmobile but at least someone is trying to make an awd (((muscle))) car

>Chrysler cucking everyone by not offering the V8 on AWD models

ok then

I guess I would have to go with Acura's current AWD system if you can count them as American.

If it's AWD it's not a muscle car fag.

That isn't what OP asked. He asked about the most advanced system, and it's definitely not on the Charger.

Rs200 is easily superior to that highway couch.

>when those digits havent been checked yet

thats nice dear

Yes.

youtube.com/watch?v=7VFsaL3skrI

>Does the US have
>US have

Best AWD American car couldn't even be sold to burgerclaps- jesus christ
You can't pay enough money to make this shit up

things are banned from F1 if they give an unfair advantage

>car
>advanced AWD
>turning

I don't think you can pick one of these user, but it's definitely American

>1/4: 11 seconds

AWD would only make a F1 car slower. They only ban things because they're "too dangerous" because F1 is a pussy ass sport.

>if you can count them as Amer-

>Acura (アキュラ Akyura ?) is the luxury vehicle marque of Japanese automaker Honda.

That's pretty damn good for a 5000lb brick on normal tires. He didn't launch it very well and spun too.

reminder that an AWD car won an F1 race before it was banned

Chrysler 300?
Cadillac CT6?

Ford Fusion AWD with Ecogoose

>Equivalent to GT-R
>Advanced AWD
KEKBLAST

don't forget about the ATS
Isn't the Nissan Skyline a Luxury Sedan turned performance car?

...

>Luxury Sedan

I want a Lincoln MK GTR fighter now

RS200 is a brit car though

...

What did he mean by this?

awd and 2 engines. Nissan can't top that.

i think you mean motors

Nissan still can't top it.

How fast can it get a #9 around the burgerking compared to the GTR?

It technically meets OPs requirements.
Have fun with your 80 mile range if you try to hang with a gtr though

>80 mile range

At continuous full throttle I'm pretty sure it's more like 15 before the battery starts to overheat or run low

It would probably die trying to lap the hurrdurrburgerking at a fast pace.

>bitching about range
OP never brought range into it.

Please explain how the Tesla AWD system has the same equivalent performance as a GTR?

According to Jeremy Clarkson, yes.

does the GTR have 2 engines?
Can the GTR be only 2WD at will?

But the Focus is engineered and built in Europe, it's not really American per se

And how far is the GTR's range driving flat out?

What does either of these have to do with having equal or better AWD performance compared to the Atessa ets system?

how about we compare the drivetrain loss of the GTR's AWD system against the drivetrain loss of the Tesla D system.

probably about 10-15 mpg

that's pretty standard for performance cars running at full throttle

>focus RS
>advanced AWD system

pick one

>15 mpg
lol, yea right. more like 8-10 mpg

not that user

but top gear already tested that a BMW continuously lapping a track get's 25 mpg
GTR probably gets 15-20 just because of the turbo system and added weight

But GTR's are made to perform on the road and track

How does the Tesla perform equally?

It got 25 going slowly. All out, it gets much less

>How does the Tesla perform equally?
mountains of low end torque.

>slowly

Nah m8, watch the video again and you'll hear the tires squealing. They were pushing it pretty hard.

>low end torque

But what about the AWD system? How does it perform compared to the GTR?

Ok run with me here buddy.
F1 uses an insane amount of aero. They can fucking theoretically drive upside down. They get their grip from that. You don't go fast enough for that to work in your dd or even most street/track cars no matter how built they are. That's where awd comes in handy. Hope that wasn't too much for you.

It was tailing a Prius. It wasn't driving hard

>tires making noise
>not hard

You must not know what fast sounds like, but ok

Even if it's tires were squeaking, the amount of throttle and brake an e90 m3 needs to use to keep up with a stock Prius is nothing. If you're not using much throttle, and you can roll through corners because of the greater lateral grip an m3 has over a Prius, then you're not going to use much gas.

My truck can squeal tires off the line. It's slower than a Prius. Some tires are also noisier than others

Does this count? in another thread people were claiming its american but if its considered japanese then please tell Honda fans to stop bitching about americans "ruining" the NSX.

>stock bmw tires
>making noise at low throttle and corner speeds

nah

You ever taken a sharp turn at 30 with your foot off the pedals?

Get fucked m8. Watch the video again. They even claim that the m3 wasn't driving hard. Want another example? Watch the top gear Lap where they had a bunch of super cars with a gallon of gas each. That's what it actually looks like when a performance car goes fast

Horsepower needs fuel

>sharp turn
>top gear test track

pick one

>It's another Veeky Forums doesn't actually know shit about motorsports episode

AWD was banned from F1 back in the early 80s. Yet they didn't actually ban AWD directly, what they did was write a rule that stated the car could not have more then 4 wheels and couldn't send it's power to more than two of them. The car that prompted this rule was the Williams FW08B which had 4 wheels in the back to assist with traction on corner exit. The reasoning was because of exploding costs and potential confusion in the pits.

It's essentially 2 2WD systems working in tandem. 1 electric motors drivetrain in the back, and another in the front. The system isn't made for track performance but to increase it's ability in inclement weather to increase sales in areas with snow.

That said, it WILL out-accelerate a GTR on a drag strip.

>Hammer head
>Gambon
>When you turn right at the follow through
Do you need some NyQuil for that told you just caught?

>implying some random trolling asshole represents Veeky Forums as a whole

Huh, I thought that rule was because Renault wanted to make a car with 4 smaller front wheels for less air resistance.

No chance it's anywhere close to either. Go do a track event some time, you can burn through half a tank in a 30 minute session in lots of cars. An NA Miata gets less than 10mpg during a race. The GTR might get 5mpg at best.

witnessed

I find that video to be more proof that the driver mod is more important. Look at the reaction time of the P1D vs GTR. The P1D didnt out accelerate the GTR, the driver reacted faster.

Also america cant make AWD performance cars on their own, RWD only.

Yes. We call it "4WD."

Is that a Mosler MT 900?

>

Yes, that fucker was fast despite basically being designed by a one-man band no-name company. It was a killer endurance car too.

Yeah I've met him / worked for him.

Neat cars. Didn't let anything get in his way except how the rest of the world perceived his cars. Built to win.

No. We do cheap dumb power.

Literally just Haldex friend

FWD 90% of the time

This. It's a nice car. But the AWD isn't exactly Subaru type levels of advanced

I'm just repeating what the guy whose actually driven both cars said.

Nigger you don't even know what you're talking about.

My 4 cylinder DD gets less than 10mpg when I'm at flooring it. Fuck in 6th gear if I floor I get down to 5mpg. A GT-R at a track is going to get horrific mileage too.

When I'm flooring it at full boost*

why would you want that. The only reason why you would want awd is to steal money from people scarred of the winter.

>advanced
>USA

pick one

>jeep as good as GTR

explain yourself

>3 turns

congrats on being dumb

what did he mean by this

>steal money from people scarred of the winter.

Or high speed cornering stability on the highway

this.
really makes you think that their fastest car is actually modified euro car.

Also technically Ford's first AWD passenger vehicle.

SpecB was a magical time.
