Let me save you some trouble. Wow right now is a desk job. You're excited at first for something new but you eventually realize it's just the same shit over and over again for several hours. Even raiding and mythic+ loses it's appeal. Maybe mythic raiding is more exciting, but I'm not sure I have what it takes to join a mythic progression guild.

Hunter is out because their rotation is ass and they're getting nerfed next patch, I don't like priest because betting on one DPS spec is bad odds. Trying to settle between mage and warlock, warlock shows high on sims but warlocks bitch about their damage output constantly they also have no mobility. Mages have mobility out the ass but their fun spec is getting poopsocked.

Tidyplates (for pretty health frames above monsters and players)

enh is pretty good and fun right now, go right ahead if you enjoy melees

Skada or Details, DBM and Exorsus Raid Tools are all addons that everyone should have, weakauras is good even if you don't want to bother with making your own, just go to wago.io and get some premade
Elvui is good if you want to install one UI addon and be done with it, but some people use other UI packs or build their own UIs up from standalone addons
I use ADIBags for bags because it's way better for someone that has bad eyes compared to shit like bagnon and default elvui bags
GottaGoFast is good if you do M+, GarrisonMissionManager is good for managing Class Halls and Garrisons, Gladius/BattlegroundTargets are pretty much obligatory for PvP
