The Friday the 13th beta is ending, but I want more.

How is Dead by Daylight? What are the similarities and differences between DbD and F13? Is it worth getting into right now? How fun is it to play as Michael Myers?

DBD is obviously a lot less janky because it's a released game rather than a beta. There are still some bugs, but not nearly as many as F13.

Killers has less killing power but far more chasing power in DBD than in F13. All killers walk faster than survivors' running speed (though some only by a slight degree), but it takes two strikes to down a survivor, and once they're down you either have to wait five long minutes for them to bleed out (without letting anyone else heal them, which they can do without items) or hook them on a meat hook, Texas Chainsaw Massacre style. Once hooked, survivors only have so much time before they die, but they can be rescue (but subsequent hooks will reduce the time before they die, with the third hook killing them immediately).

When chasing survivors, killers move faster so it's only a matter of time before they can run them down. Survivors cannot fight killers; they can only buy some time by jumping through windows and dropping barricades.

Killers have no "sense" ability (outside of some limited scenarios when using specific perks or items) and must rely entirely on their own eyes and ears.

Michael Myers is a fairly good choice for beginner killers since his mechanics are relatively straightforward and don't require an in-depth understanding of the game's fine details. He was probably designed to be a gateway drug for the game.

I've taken to just calling the police instead of wasting my time with the battery and gas.

Driving it with AJ is laggy as fuck for me, it takes a full second for the car to respond to me doing anything and it still veers all over the place.

Could be that the servers are shitting themselves. I've seen some people drive it through bushes and off road perfectly and get away with it mean while I run into guard rails when driving on the main road.

Hard to say, since in-game, intelligence only seems to correlate to mechanical intuition. It has nothing to do with tactical planning or quick thinking, obviously, because that's determined by the player.

If you're playing Tiffany and have high stealth but low composure, you may want to group up to prevent the "being alone" fear increase. Otherwise it's probably not a good idea, because if you're together, Jason only needs to detect one of you to ruin all of your days.
