drift

best cars
most fun
best scene

that isn't racing you fucking child

Drag racing. It's hours of bone shaking, loud and powerful cars that are usually stupid fast.

And it's pretty cheap to do and attend

>drift racing
>racing

blow it out your ass

is dat sum Lars-
>sees S10

nice

hope to see him try and go after Lutz

>drift
>racing

lol what

He was a super cool dude. Really nice to talk to and breathes love for speed and cars. That s10 made my bones jump out of my skin

It's not a race. It's a style thing like skateboarding or ballet. Not bad, but not racing

its called drift racing when its a competition
there are race results

its racing

Wow lad don't get skateboarding into this message they call "driftah racing"

rally racing
rock bouncing (is that considered racing?)
time attack
le mans

im sure

only "famous" car Ive seen is BoostedGT and even that was cool

style points =/= racing
fuck off

Yeah. That 5th gen Camaro is a hell of a car as well. Thing sounded like thunder.

It's not a race. A race is to people competing to cover a distance in the quickest time possible.

racing to see who can get the most points m80

rally > f1 > gt > motogp > drag > stock car > nascar

TT racing > motogp

>best cars
objectively wrong on multiple levels.
>most fun
subjective, but it is interesting to watch for sure.
>best scene
holy fuck no, teenagers and man children are what make it most cancerous.

rally=motogp >anything else > drift (not racing but fun to watch and do)

ok Ill admit I chose drifting because i knew it would a shit storm

still my favorite motorsport

rally is my favorite real racing

drifting has the most freedom so its the best

smashing the fuck out of a car is fun so its the best

the scene is universally fun never had a bad time at a drift event

What does Veeky Forums think about F5000/Can Am.

youtube.com/watch?v=qAkrzEqHHyA

>I was only pretending to be retarded

Nissan Micra series

I knew Id get this too

not my fault I knew youd take the bait

Holy fuck that is some redneck shit and I love it. I would toss demo derby and tractor pulls in but i don't think that's racing just redneck entertainment

If by freedom you mean just being able to hack together pieces of shit and abuse them senselessly, then no, that doesn't make it anywhere near a good motor "sport".

Rally

nope thats exactly what makes it good

No That's what makes it a sport for teenagers with no driving skills other than "ripping the skid lever uleh".

>accesible motorsports is bad

fuck of with your false sense of superiority

Drag racing is most accessible. I could legit win bracket racing with my 22 second truck

yes but that just involves straights and you spend most of the time waiting to race

worse than autocross

There are lots of other accessible motor sports that actually require more brain thought than clutch dumping and pulling the handbrake buddy.

rally
road/street racing
drag

Autocross/conefaggots and >muh laptimes kinda suck not as much fun

>more brain thought than clutch dumping and pulling the handbrake buddy.

yeah drifting is one of them

theres what

autocross
drag racing

and drag requires less thought than drifting unless you have a powerful/fast car

>Rally
>Mixed-class (IMSA, WEC, VLN)
>V8 Supercars
>BTCC
>GT3/GT4
In that order

Hillclimbing

youtube.com/watch?v=skj64PPN_wI

drag racing requires brain thought
??? lol

Benchracing

hill climb and segment runs
everything else seems like a micro management and reliability contest

...

...

I'm just gonna throw tractor pulls out there. Where else do you see teamed up big blocks, boat diesels, WW2 plane engines and helicopter jet turbines all in one place?

youtube.com/watch?v=yOsQjB2d3UE

damn thats incredible, I seen jet cars racing before but nothing like that

is ruining transmissions a sport?

this
youtube.com/watch?v=wZKqhvch3mU
how did this even become a thing

They raced trucks like that at a local drag strip a few years back and completely wrecked the face of the announcer building behind the strips- paint was totally gone, windows melted outwards, etc. Cool as shit but holy fuck you better have ear plugs in.

touge

corse

Some NASCAR driver thought
> what If we made the track the shape of a pretzel?

Finally a use for all these FWD shitboxes!

youtube.com/watch?v=3lzObcTVa1c

Bench.

MotoGP hands down

Literally this
>no benchracing tolerated, let alon possible
>no big money ruining competitivity, accessible to all
>all about the craftmanship of the builders and the skills of the racers
Undisputed GOAT racing

touge is just an exotic name for hillclimb in street cars

I can get dicey on steeper hills
but the regulations are vague aside from having to sign a liability waver

Bench racing

I can't decide between racing that has the best theme music or the most carnage. I think Group-B rallying wins for inspiring the public to try to drive above their ability.

Indoor rally cars
youtu.be/CmcTY2erGCk

>Indoor rally cars
Indoor rally cars firing lasers from their roofs.
youtube.com/watch?v=7qlLRejdY34

Sidecar racing.
youtube.com/watch?v=UqUa0dduw9o&t=159s

WRC
A close second would be NASCAR desu
t. not a burger but i like the competitiveness of oval racing at 200+ mph

But drag racing is boring

tougay > track racing > ice track racing > rallycross > rally > f1 > doriftu >> > > > > > ratemyshit.com > drag racing

cringe.

track = stage rally > tt >>>>>>>>>> everything else

>this amount of damage control

I dont get it, like it looks like youre supposed to watch near highspeed crashes in the center for 3 hours, thats freaking cool and all but like who cares about the race itself

youtube.com/watch?v=ND7Qjj0eZ5o

#bringbackgroupb

modern rally cars are much faster than group b.

are you allowed to stand on the road hoping the tip of your dick will touch the rearmirrors of the car?

but it's completely sanitised.
the cars have too much electronics.
the drama is gone.
they need to limit traction control, stability control, unlimit engine capacity.
nobody even watches wrc anymore, because it's fucking deathly boring.
they new 2017 regulations are a step in the right direction, but it's still not enough.

and far less interesting to watch

Extremely underrated

t. armand dulac

Rally and Quarter Mile.

Rally / hill climb a best

youtube.com/watch?v=LU-ynRoqDEs

t. absolute madman

Touge

thats just fucking insane
how is that even legal?

Drag racing is pretty fun

no one's forcing them to do it
it's called freedom

At my local track the motorcycles can just cut in line. I can get like 4 runs in the time a car will do one

4 people on average die every year in that race.

and its fucking spectacular.

Tractor pulls have some awesome engineering

youtube.com/watch?v=SPR8zBSNOgE

>147 litre displacement
>42 cylinders
>168 valves
>methanol fuelled
>ONE big ass throttle valve

No racing is as dramatic as it was in the 70s/80s. Back then most racing cars had more power than the chassis could handle however suspension and tyre technology caught up.

24 hours race

youtube.com/watch?v=hlXnhRzGYnI

>mfw subaru won the 24 Hour Nürburgring race in 2016

Bike racing is. Its no safer now than it was in the 70s and 80s

youtube.com/watch?v=0i2zONK_OrM

IMA put this on all day thanks

noice

Nobody posted Trans Am yet? production muscle cars duking it out back when they were plentiful and it wasnt a tragedy if one got wrecked. Also, early NHRA drag

If i had to choose something modern id have to go with GT racing.

whats your point

MotoGP>F1>RallyCross>WEC>Rally

None, I'm just tired of so many people having such a hard-on for it but see it only as a japanese thing while it is one of the oldest forms of motorsport but it doesn't have a cool name in english.

fucking hell, this looks fun
youtube.com/watch?v=ZVykBSG5fuk

>all these tricycle dude braking with his feet on fucking pavement
>that other guy practically sliding on his belly with his chin one inch from the ground
>racing these things at night
what a bunch of complete madmen
I want in so fucking bad now
I wonder how expensive it actually gets, some folks seem to have sponsors, particularly those who have boxes with full chassis/body rather than welded tubes

Rally.
But kart cross seems nice and affordable too. Neat creations there, being able to design your own suspension/steering must be nice.
I wonder if they actually study aerodynamics or just go "fuck it lets make it racey/add moar wings".
