I'm on a fairly decent PC running below recommended settings. I just got HoT and in the new area I drop to like 40 - 50 fps even with graphics turned down further. Is this normal or is something wrong?

GW2 is in that state where only a few of the old devs have any passion left and the new ones just see it as a paycheck/stepping stone.

The game isn't even remotely on life support or close to having a skeleton crew but it's sad when you look at the energy of the devs compared to a few years ago.

Coming from WoW RP to GW2 RP I discovered how much addons really fucking spoiled me.

It was a huge culture shock RP'ing without the aid of stuff like MRP/TRP to read someone's profile and learn about their character on the fly or paste to send a like 600 character emote at the same time instead of needing to break it up.

However I've also found it kinda beneficial. Writing down a long emote in notepad to copy-paste it one by one gives me more of a chance to study it and not being able to learn about someone's character instantly has made me less of a snob.

Far too many times in WoW RP did I read a profile and just instantly decide "yea I don't ever want to waste my time with this shit, this character looks terrible" and move on. Without that in GW2 I've interacted with a lot of characters and had fun doing so whereas I might not have done that had I known beforehand. It's taught me that some people are just really shit at talking about and describing their character but do pretty solid at portraying them.
