Are enrage mechanics the worst decision to add to raiding? I am mostly fine with soft enrages like things in the environment getting destroyed or running out of room because of ground AoE, but this dumb gimmick off "The boss gets bored after 11 minutes and nukes the room" is cancerous design that really limits group composition and promotes artificial playstyles that the devs can't seem to balance around at all.

Its fun when some things are in season and some aren't. Being the underappreciated, maybe even shunned underdog sometimes is interesting versus everyone being capable of everything all the time. It makes the game feel more alive and like job choice main means a little more.

xiv stole it from wow, it's nothing new in MMOs.

the point of enrage timers is that the fights are tuned to be doable within that period of time as long as you're not fucking up.

Okay but let me ask you this. If these raids didnt have hard enrages, would how people play really change that much in a weird way? People act like if enrages didnt exist people would just auto attack the boss for fun or something weird. In reality most people would continue to push their numbers for the sake of fflog competition. The difference is that people wouldn't be forced to play classes they didn't like in gimmicky early progression setups, healers would probably DPS a little less if they were the type to get stressed easily, SCH would continue to DPS because why not, and fights would last 1-2 minutes longer overall. I dont know where people are also getting this notion that enrages are the things that typically wipe groups and separate the good from the bad, when in reality that just comes down to following mechanics because hitting enrages isn't very hard at all with an optimal comp.

i got them to 15 each first and then levelled one to 50 with levekits whenever i had the allowances. gc turn-ins and ixal dailies will help as well though yes

It's a relic of raid design that hasn't really changed much and acts like an artificial gate so devs can force players to gear up and not clear it all in one day(lol) if they can do/survive mechanics. What I think is that extreme primals should not have them because there have been so many so few groups with dumb pugs that could have been a kill if enrage didn't exist
