it's personal preference really theres also different firmnesses of plastic and rubber but in the end they all really just do the same job that can be done by any straight relatively flexible and stiff piece of plastic

No i have one like that but i cant keep the sticker from sliding all over. So i cut and welded some forks together to hold the sticker down

I usually try to save this stuff for /wg/ but it sounds like you need it.
I don't know what it is you're feeling bad about, but I do know that a fair amount of depression is self-inflicted. Take a minute to remind yourself that you're only human, and it's OK. Nothing will ever be perfect, that's just life, wabisabi and all that (or whatever it's called). Your harshest, most brutal critic will always be yourself so take a step back and realize that you're nowhere near as bad as you make yourself out to be. I'm willing to bet that you, probably like most of us here, do not take care of yourself or treat yourself nearly as well as you should, and that's going to have an impact. Eat right, sleep at a reasonable time, have three meals a day, and when you catch yourself shit-talking yourself in your head you shut that shit right up. Stop fucking shit-talking yourself. I know you do it, I do it and so does everyone else. It's bad though, it's basically that guy who bullied you in school having a permanent residence in your head. Kick his sorry ass out, and know that you're way better than you consider yourself to be.
If all else fails, live by the words of the great kamina: "don't believe in yourself. Believe in me, who believes in you". I think you're a pretty OK dude, why would I have stuck around /osg/ for over a year and sent you designs and shit if I didn't? If you can't believe in yourself, know that I believe in you, even if I am just a post on the chariot section of a Victorian painting forum.
