GM fangirls will defend this
>gm
rotflmao
>hey joey, i got an idea
>whats your idea?
>lets completely scrap a hundred years worth of efficient engineering and design and implement our new idea
>w..what?
>yeah man lets bend some pieces of metal and use it as suspension
>w..what the hell are you talk
>yeah man springs and shocks are for retards, i don't know how anyone else hasn't thought of this yet. it's genius
>but how are people going to tune their suspension?
>they can go buy a real car if they want to do that
that was good in the 60s
>another alphag thread
yawn
looks alot better than this, nissan is shit
While GM is gay and gay, the simple technology is good.
>I can driver the performance of a Ferrari with simpler technology
>instead I should self-fellate and put in wildly complex, unreliable systems
I see no issue with this
If it's so great then why did they move to , which has the traditional amount of control arms?
>make simple redneck boomer mobile
>still completely unreliable
Can't explain that.
>then why did they move to
>why did GM do a stupid thing?
LT=limited time
>stupid thing
>same layout that every modern racing car ever uses
using the halfshafts as a control arm was retarded
>>same layout that every modern racing car ever uses
>race cars are the epitome of reliability.
Street cars are meant to be robust, dumbass springs are fine, most boomers do 40 under the speed limit anyway so that they think that they're giving people enough time to look at their sled.
i'm talking about the control arms ya dumb nigger
>a
>fucking
>leaf
Yeah so? I'm talking about deez nuts
uh how bout' you uh post some proofs there?
Here's your (You)
Leaf springs were around long before coils.
This shit makes me sad. I get the Z06 being an reliable shit, I wasn't surprised because the performance bargain seemed too good to be true.
But the regular one being a shit is a huge disappointment to me. I wanted to like the new Vette, I really did, I felt like it was my duty as an Amurrican.
The ford marketing department is going all out lately.
If it works, why change it?
Porsche sticked with their RR meme for so long, and they improved it with every iteration. GM can't do this?
Also the mk2 escort had leaf springs even as a racecar, and it danced around the competition.
>24hr cars aren't robust
here's your you
it literally doesn't even say (you)
Stop hacking Veeky Forums
Hiroshima Nagasaki decided to drop them.
Wait, you mean the endless bitching on /qa/ actually resulted in something?
Actually been getting the same thing.
Why? seems like its going to encourage samefagging. what's stopping me from replying to my own comments "LOL SIC BURN BRO" over and over.
Are you for serial
...
even the cumstang has independent rear suspension now, when will GM enter the current millennium?
Seems good to me since its literally one single unit that is right there to be replaced.
You could probably replace it with only an adjustable wrench it looks like.
Mercedes, Jaguar and Lotus did the same thing
It was normal back in the day
Family hatchbacks have irs now, but I dont see them setting any records.
>LOOK AT THESE SHINY PARTS OF METAL ALL BUNCHED CLOSE TOGETHER AND LOOKS COMPLICATED
>IT MUST BE GOOD BECAUSE OF THAT RIGHT?
Come back here when you're old enough to post.
>no more (you)s
AAAAAAAAAAAAA GOD DAMMIT I LIKED THAT FEATURE IT MADE KEEPING TRACK OF MY SHITPOSTS EASY FUCK
You do understand the irony of you saying that right?
>tfw you ctrl+f (You)
>tfw 0 results
Huh. It's dots now.
Ok, I can live with this.
Guess we're going to start saying "here's your dots ............"
It doesn't have the same ring to it.
End of an era, lol
Damn, all my (You) memes are useless and whoever made this picture just wasted a shit-ton of time.
Looks like a tayota
Jesus toyfags are such cancer.
>hurr durr how come they didnt even put a cup holder on the door lol gm assmad btfo
>triangulated 4 link
>hates GM
>loves lack of engineering progress
Yup, it's a toyfag shilling his shit opinions again.
Early ones had some dumbass in charge of machining the heads or something like that and metal chips got in the oil. Should be good now.
even FCA puts cupholders in their doors and they only build paperweights.
what the fuck is GM doing?
Nah you can still use it to uncover newfags
At least they didn't fuck up something ultra simple like valve springs like the richest car company in the world did.
autoblog.com
Not fucking up valve springs while pretending to be reliable?
still suck tough
>Family hatchbacks have irs now
wow really. well done, america.
Not all of them Toyotes is still on that donkey cart beam suspension
Where is the engine located in this pic
Looks like a small overlap test, so it's most likely behind that obstacle. No modern car will crumple that completely in a full head-on collision.
Oh yeah i see how that doesnt run all the way across now
in the dummys abdomen
>hates gm
>ignores it's near hypercar performance using a truck engine and leaf springs
only problem is they didn't replace the top a arm with the spring
does that work well?
>"""performance"""
how is it hypercar performance when it can't beat the GTR and the GTR is barely a supercar?
way back in the day -60 grand pre cars ran the setup well the pic is of a ac cobra it works "ok"
a modern compost spring would work better as you could start it from a flat set
it works sort of as a anti roll bar aswell
A FUCKIN LEAF
Considering that the suspension design actually works quite well, your point is moot and you're an assmad poor piece of shit who can't afford nice cars.
>assmad poor piece of shit who can't afford nice cars.
You managed to 50/50 incorporate Alphonse, a homosexual Furry, and Frosty, an incarcerated felon. Need your own shtick imo, or you'll end up being another invisible trip
This, and like all leaf springs they are adjustable.
Using an iron leaf spring is just plain stupid nowadays. It was a decent compromise back then though.
Truly modern leaf spring design removes the shock towers and sway bars (see ), making for a very compact package. Not only GM uses it, but Volvo too in the new XC/S/V90.
Actually, coils were around before leaf springs, making them the more dated design. Leaf springs date back to 1804, while coils date back to 1763.
>which has the traditional amount of control arms?
Because using your springs as control arms is hard, since you get all kinds of wierd camber curves. It's better to let the spring do spring (and swaybar) duty in this case, and have a precisely controlled camber curve using a set of control arms on each side.
this.
the ford gt does laps around a track without overheating but the shitvette can't
>gm fangirls will defend this
youtu.be
Stop replying to yourself.
spotted the assmad gm fangirl
this
fug that sounds good
Ford is GOAT
You apparently don't know how to put words together, because that makes no fucking sense. Also,
>implying I give a shit about being visible
He was saying that you're just like two other tripfags, and you'll need to differentiate yourself somehow if you want to be an Veeky Forums celebrity.
>(You)s gone
>Only people sad are the literal shitposters
I take it all back
Hiro is a Hero
It's literally tenths of a second slower in motor trends figure 8 test course which rates grip, power, and handling
This is clearly a troll thread. There is no other purpose than to just throw insults.
I swear that design already looks dated..
The original GT40 didn't when the 2005 GT came out, and it never will. Ford is GOAT.
Irony is lost on someone like that, i think it's the super low intellect.
defective oil filter, dipshit. It would crater a ferrari, nissan or anything else for that matter... Shameful cherry picking your hate.
> blame on a piece of metal debris (likely from a bad oil filter) that worked its way into the oiling system and wrecked a connecting-rod bearing
...
R u for reals? Someone reply to me plz
Here, have some dots.
>gm only needs leaf springs to beat the gtr
What does that say about the shitty engineering of Nippon
>gm products come with defective parts out of the factory
kek
So does literally every other manufacturer.
BTFO
t. gm's marketing team
My sides just lunched themselves
>he has EcoBoost sides
Kek
...
Just being a dick here but a leaf spring is a bent stick, the first bow and arrow was a bent stick so I think leaf springs are older
can i have some too?
Yeah here you go. Wtf i hate Veeky Forums
WHAT THE FUCK WAS WRONG WITH (You)? HUH 4KEK? WAS IT TOO CONVENIENT FOR YOUR USERS? THAT'S TOO BAD MAYBE YOU SHOULD MAKE IT FOR Veeky Forums PASS USERS ONLY.
>Leaf springs date back to 1804
Leaf springs date back to the 14th century.
It's actually pretty cool if you think about it as a IRS on a budget of a case of beer and a weekend in the garage sort of way
