Honestly the best thing that can happen if SV starts advertising on Crunchyroll, or partner up with Crunchy, or get a big booth and anime cons. The anime fanbase is ripe and will give definitely give waifustone a try. The fun factor and all the free shit is already good enough for those braindead subscribers.

Somewhat new player here. Why is control forest not a thing? Is it simply outclassed by ptp, or is it bad for some other reason?

Yeah, they definitely have some interesting tools in their arsenal that could support a control-oriented deck. Which only further raises my confusion.

I figured it was something along those lines, but stuff like tia and maybe ancient could still be used in a control deck. Might not be a top tier deck, but it should work to some extent.

There's never been a good framework for it. Rose Queen and Silver Bolt aren't reliable win cons on their own, neither provides inevitability or stabilize. Removal is decent but not on par with other control, and the best removal in Will works poorly in a frame that wants to answer a lot. PtP works really well because you sacrifice nothing for it.

I did consider the issue of a win condition. But could you not simply overwhelm your opponent with fat threats until they no longer have answers to them? I currently play control blood, and in a lot of match ups that's what I end up doing.

Basically the suicide part isn't gonna kill your opponent, just you.

I'm the user from the other thread. I tried Flowerbed for a while but you end up dying way too fast.
Playing around with this now. Midnight vamp is too reliant on the bats but I'll stick with it for a few more games.

there's plenty of amulets that are GREAT for breaking early, particularly, all of the ones that have followers with ward.

big difference between 3pp and 5pp and it's considerably harder and more fruitless to remove elana than it is to remove eidolon

If by shit you mean your chances of winning then yes.

Forest gets good wards and some support for Rose Queen/Silver Bolt control archetypes, nothing too remarkable.

Sword gets a lot of good lategame cards and a mini-Aurelia.

Rune gets a lot of love, mostly geared to more fast-paced aggro decks with shit like Daria, Ogler, Piercing Rune. ER also gets Taboos and Dwarf which helps a lot.

With so many new support cards for disco dragon I can't see it not being at least T2. Also they got the good half of the cross-class lesbians.

Blood gets better clears and strong minions.

Shadow got more RNG memes and some serious last word powers, also Sexton.

Haven gets a cancer amulet popper and one Elena synergy card.

We're getting deep into midrange territory here but basically, Forest lacks the relevant threats. That may change tomorrow but right now, most of your big cards are reliant on little ones to function and those compete for resources. Forest actually has a pretty poor overall pool outside of the broken cards worth playing everywhere, it's much more slanted than most crafts.

I think the new legendary could change that up. An expensive card that costs 0 is plenty scary, especially considering cards like Ancient Forest Dragon or Silver Bolt.

The best thing about how DShift is designed is the devs can adjust its initial pp cost it so it matches the average game length for other wincons.

Zoo-oriented aggro decks will kill DShift at turn 6 or 7.
