If you have perfect aim it's theoretically better than stock. You can do 280 damage in less than two seconds from further than a meatshot. The way it reloads can fuck you over though.

these have all been tested by valve before when it was in beta way back when, when it was trying to be a quake/old call of duty style teamgame. They removed spawners and autoheal buildings cause they made engi an afk class, the mounted gun thats commonplace in army style warfare was gone when they went 1950's town architecture. It all makes sense balance wise, like why they removed grenades, If you think soldier poke is bad now imagine every class having a spammable grenade
