I think skills don't stack and it's confusing in general. I didn't bother with it at all but I liked it in U2.
U1 is worse than U2 in most regards but not by much so it's still an enjoyable EO game. Most people recommend going from 1 to 2, though, so you don't go down quality wise.
Oh well, we can still hope for Untold 3 to be even better
the classes and force system are less interesting
the labyrinth uses a lot of EO1 maps, which makes it more mazelike
you can't do the extra dungeon in classic mode
We get dotted underlines instead of (you)'s now.
Major things you'll miss from U2 is the detailed enemy info in battle and probably the grimoire system.
Upside is every single floor isn't going to feel the need to blatantly point out every new foe you meet and the grimoire notifications aren't in your face all the time.
Character voices (aside from story mode) don't feel as annoying.
There are a few translation errors which impact the info you're getting in-game (ie. Grimoire skill level doubled mistake)
Also, if you care about 100% completion you'll be forced to play story mode at least once
All in all it's a good game though, enjoyable to play.

Any tips on grinding money in EO1? Got to 5th Stratum recently and want to get the best weapons of armor for my team before going on to the sixth. 500k should suffice.
