So here's the thing

So here's the thing

I love Porsches, specially the Classic ones

I have this friend that loves Alfas

He doesn't stop getting into discussions with me about which brand is better in terms of History.....

Only thing he says is that Alfa dominated Rally and shit...

what should I say to make him see that Porsche is miles better?

Thanks

tell him he's a retarded bench racer

i do. but explain me what facts can i tell him :(

I would say that both brands have some fine cars and some shit cars.

Then I would promptly start a heated debate over 9mm vs .45acp

Lotus honestly trumps them both, in purity, performance and pedigree

man I don't give a fuck about Lotus. This right here is just Porsche vs Alfa. I need arguments to explain to this retarded why Porsche is better. what should I say?

Drive both for 24 hours and see which breaks first. That's why alfa can't into endurance.

2 people so far have nothing for Porsche.
Let's see how the thread goes

and Porsche dominated

Can-Am
Le Mans
Targa Florio
Daytona
Sebring
various sports car racing series

also won Monte Carlo 3 years in a row and a few Formula 1 championships with their engines

Both have an incredibly rich history, though personally I prefer Porsche.

But if you want some IRL shitposting ammo, a Porsche holds the all-time Nurburgring laptime record.

Ok noted. Any more good tips? Because everytime I talk about races he says that typical bs: bla bla Rally is a different type of race bla bla can't compare.

Noted thx

The 959 Paris-Dakar victory is proof that Porsche can into rally.

Yea. But how good was Porsche in rally?

And how much better was Alfa?

alfa fanboys truly are the worst.
it's all about "muh soul" and "muh passion" with no facts to back up their shit.

Porsche won Dakar twice too
5 European Rally Championship 1st place overalls
1 IMC 1st place overall (Alfa only raced in 1 of 3 held and came in last)

Porsche won a lot more rally events than Alfa thats for sure

Alfas strongpoint was always touring cars so I dont know why he uses rally

Oh wow, really?

Could someone put All the Wins for each brand? So I can brag to him?

If anyone knows

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alfa_Romeo_in_motorsport

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsche_in_motorsport

thanks, but I meant what are the most notable and important wins to compare each other.

Because Porsche may have more wins but Alfa's wins may be in bigger events. I don't know..

>Major victories and championships

its right there on each of their pages

Porsche inherently builds their cars incorrectly, and yet porsches are some of the most desirable cars around the world. Many people have never even heard of Alfa. But most know that a Porsche is something special.

My english isnt perfect and I can't really see it.

Can you put both of them here written please? Thanks

I will just copy and paste

>He doesn't stop getting into discussions with me about which brand is better in terms of History
sounds like a faggot that wants his ass stretched

He is quite a cool and calm guy... But everytime Alfa or Porsche comes up he feels the need to say shit like that..

>6:11:13
How the fuck can anyone beat that? Nissan can't even crack 7 minutes with all the technology under the sun

Well yea.. that's a lot of wins and I can't see which one has the better results as I don't know much about them

Porsche has much more high profile victories all that needs to be said I think

Porsche even has more big-name rally wins

who cares they're both great companies.
Grow the fuck up, you're propably not even out of middle school

fastest car on the ring, nice

Anyone remember Porsche's amazing works F1 car?!? Yeah didn't think so.

Alfa pretty much started F1, and launched Ferrari. Porsche ain't shit.

Dan Gurney is probably still having nightmares about it tho.

youtube.com/watch?v=3P1QmCswql0

83 was the last time there were prototypes run on the ring

Porsche prides itself on being all about no-nonsense German precision, but in reality their road cars are built on a legacy stemming from is a bunch of stupid opinions held by Ferdinand and Ferry that were wrong and had to be engineered and over-tyred to work. Rear engine with swing axles. Good going krauts.

Luckily they made their true race cars mid engined. They weren't totally fucking stupid.

...

...

Porsche tried getting rid of the 911 and replacing it with an FMR with a V8 and the autists bitched and whined about it

probably because that car was shit and is still the ugliest Porshe ever made

hwat?

>hwat?

nobody liked it

everyone hated it and called it a dead fish because of the lights the shape itself isnt good looking either

>nobody liked it
>voted car of the year in 1978

>nobody likes it
>voted truck of the year 2006

bruh your game is weak son

That's because it's actually all the truck most people actually need and actually a good vehicle

>b-but muh V8
>muh body on frame
Truck cucks are idiots, almost as dumb as the average poster on Veeky Forums

>most people

yeah most people who dont need a truck anyone who actually needs it the Ridgeline doesnt deliver

being car/truck of the year doesnt make it good plenty of complete shit vehicles have won it

Yeah man, dummies like Porsches. Smarties like Alfas!

95% of truck owners don't actually need a truck

>BUT THE RIDGELINE CAN'T TOW 20,000LBS UP A MUD SLIDE

Just admit to him that you're wrong.

dont care

when a truck is neede the Ridgeline doesnt cut it

just like when a Porsche is needed the 928 doesnt cut it

>just like when a Porsche is needed the 928 doesnt cut it

I came here to post this

>he doesn't know about auto union

Auto Union, Mercedes-Benz, Buggati, Delahaye, There were a lot of makers in F1 back then, WTF does that have to do with Porsche tho?

Pic Related: Who do you think Auto Union was racing against?

>WTF does that have to do with Porsche?

Oh, gee, I don't know. Why don't you go look up who designed those auto union cars, I will wait.

Alfa hasn't won a rally since 1975 (Targa Florio) and has never competed in official World Rally Championship races.
Their sister company, Lancia, however, has. Lancia currently holds the record for the most WRC victories in rally, having taken the WRC championship 10 times (1974, 1975, 1976, 1982, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992)
1992 was also the last time Lancia competed.

Alfa Romeo, according to that list of victories, does very well in European Touring car racing. Touring car racing takes place on a paved track, the cars have to come off the same production lines as normal cars, and before 2012 at least (when all cars were expected to use the same 1.6L engine), had to have a 2.0L production based engine, usually making around 300 HP. However, Alfa is far from the best at touring car racing. The best, arguably, is General Motors Chevrolet division.

>losing to Lada

RIP in peace Volvo

Ah, Shit! Never knew that. I always thought he was just KDF-Wagens and Tractors. Thanks for the lesson.

I think the pic says it all no need to say any more

last time I checked Alfa wasn't making sick ass tanks

...

well, what else do they have? affordability? reliability? comfort? service?

don't take the only things they have away from them.

Heh

The Tiger I isn't even a porsche. It's produced my Henschel. Porsche tried to make their own Tiger tank but had their design rejected and the henschel design was chosen because of poor reliability and poor maneuverability.

See picture of said failed design on right,

>how do you get people to stop having different opinions than you?
