Why don't nations in EU4 have inherent penalties in their national ideas? Like England/Great Britain should have an inherent penalty to Diplomatic Reputation. In exchange, they could buff the numerical values of the existing positive traits.

It would add more flavor to the game.

There are no penalties in the entire game outside of random events because their target audience is too fragile for negative feedback.

The most obvious examples are the quality/quantity idea groups and religious authority for Orthodox and Muslims. Both have very obvious downsides that should acompany them but instead they are just straight benefits.

EU3 had a better system when it came to stuff like quality vs quantity

Yes actually, I left NATO at the beginning of the game so Russia is going to sit on the Poland/Germany border and France on their German/France border. Game keeps crashing though so I can't continue playing.

Did you extract the KR directory directly to the Mods folder? Or did you fucking copy/paste the DH full directory and then overwrite Kaiserreich on it when the directions explicitly say not to do that?

I would have been able to grab all of Germany I think as they were eating into the French when I declared, but as a result of some events Qing and Burma are allied to Germany so I had to leave fifty divisions in the East to contain that.
