You'd get sick deleting / reinstalling when you run out of space. Also rebuilding databse every time you swap out your mem card, and fixing skittles position.

The Tower of Fortune in Shiren is so fucking intense.

You make just 1 error and you could be forced to use Escape scroll and restart everything to save your equipment.

It's a risk management game, the whole point is to mitigate rng or risk higher chance of bad rng for better rewards. It's as fair as you want to make it.

Shiren isn't really RNG in that sense I think. The night critters can fuck you over with hax, but you also has a shit load of hax in your own arsenal you just have to master them.

Both you and the enemy have fair distributed amounts of hax.

I can appreciate those kinds of heavy RNG elements in a board game or something similarly non-serious where the results don't matter, but a permadeath DRPG is another story. I can tolerate a certain level of RNG, those risk-vs-reward classes in DT2 were cool, but when the entirety of the endgame feels like it hinges on coin flips rather than strategy it starts to just feel like shit

Yeah darkest dungeon endgame is shit, I heard it was a little bit better with some of the patches but back when I played it it was absolutely awful and the game only got praised so highly because nobody played the endgame of it. they played for 10-20 hours maybe and stopped. it really falls apart at the seems at the end.

They really dropped the ball on digital content. The shitty data management system and retardedly expensive memory sticks are actively preventing me from giving them more money. I filled a 32 gb stick and have stopped buying new games because it's not worth the hassle. I can also buy a 2ds for the price of a 64 gb stick.
