Your stats don't exactly matter, as long as you're able to hit him most of the time (80+ offensive stats). And just so you know, Kalphite King isn't the most profitable, the most expable, or even the most funnable boss in the game, not even fucking close 8') So make sure you won't blame me for dying, or blame yourself for dying, and if you're going to blame yourself for dying, or I am going to blame you for dying, then please feel to report me. I suck at prayer switching though and panic. I think I'll try onslaught and learn prayer switching when I decide to do it at higher enrages.

you still have to prayer switch or else you die. how onslaught works is you devo > adren pot > onslaught. if you miss a prayer switch that effectively equates to one less hit of onslaught you can muster.

yeah, but you don't do it for long. I can do it if it's only 5-10 prayer switches, but anymore and I start to panic and fumble.

My brother and bunch of our friends are deciding to get back into Runescape, should we go with Old School or should we stick with RS3? I don't think Old School has a clan castle thing iirc so that's my only complaint.

Or should we do that pvp Runescape server I heard about? I took a year break with my brother after I fucking got burnt out from the Vampire quest line

I don't know what I want, what would you reccomend and why?

Old school is the game from 2007, with a few minor changes.
The community is mostly assholes from reddit, but there's an active pvp scene,
There are a metric fuckload of bots, it's estimated around 20k.
It's got significantly less content, but it's not been fucked with like RS3.

RS3 is actual runescape.
The combat is "completely" different, though there are settings to make it as afk, or just a straight up emulation of the old system.
There are microtransactions, annoyingly so.
Community is nicer, but faggy as fuck.
Lotta furfags and ERPers.
Significantly more content, and the grind is a lot less than OSRS.
Barely any bots.

Pick whatever you want m8, it's all up to you.

Is there anything better to kill than fire giants to get melee 70->80?

Is it true they dropped EOC and made Combat Levels cumulative? I heard about Legacy and combat levels now including all your combat skills and not just your highest and second highest skill added up

Yeah Combat levels are mostly like they were pre-EoC

EoC itself has gotten a lot of updates to make it better/less click intensive. It's 1000x better than it was on release

EoC was massively improved.
And now there are 3 combat modes.

Manual - the EoC
Revolution - automatic usage of basic abilities, thresholds and ultimates are used manually
and then
Legacy - an emulation of the old system

Legacy does a lot less DPS, and doesn't have the healing features of revo or manual, but it doesn't require learning the new system.
Revolution is what most people use, and it has the benefit of being as afkable as the old system while dealing more damage.
If you want to learn the new system, there's a tutorial in lumby.
Special attacks are back as well.

And combat levels are back to how they used to be, or a similar formula anyways.

I'm still a noob so asking if there are some better alternatives. Just trained melee from 60 to 70 with mostly fire giants

the best way of training melee is during slayer tasks

Based Jagex is going to make t80 equipment acquirable for shitters like me who can't kill nex.

Immediately post EoC it was just highest offensive combat stat + defense.

Yeah that does melee, range, or magic. You can have 1 in magic and ranged with 99 melee and you'll still have 138 cb.
