Gayne is a really solid SR unit. Gayne/Laguna/Arulu would at the very least get full Tezcat bonuses, plus double delay from Aru and Laguna. You could do much worse for a side pool.

It's honestly mainly about will to not roll on impulse. It's entirely possible to gather the rolls for sparks even without getting lucky in betting. Might take some time, but for a lot of people it's better than relying on RNG, especially if your character list is okay-ish already.
