i look for accumulation. Some people look for volume, but volume can sometimes come after the big money front loaded, they then bring up the volume, stock flies and they dump on the way up

volume is the amount of shares being traded. lets say if the share price is $1 and there is an avg. volume of 500,000 .. thats $500,000 dollars being traded in that that stock a day. because 500,000 shares multiplied by $1.
Now lets say some big money comes in and the volume shoots up to say 2,000,000 that shows that there is money out their that has interest in the stock. This could be a good sign because it shows some confidence in the company.

Read what the orders actually do, a stop loss converts into a sell at market price, which may be well below where your stop is at depending on how volatile the thing you're trading is
