I'm fairly new to Sims 4 and I have a problem. It seems like there are few careers that are so much better compared to the others. Right now my character is doing paintings and selling them at her own retail store. It's easy 20-30k per day. My other character has business career and he makes very little money compared to her + he has to do those mind numbing daily tasks. Is this designed like this or am I doing something wrong? Is there some good career mods that make this somewhat better? Even getting those daily tasks less time consuming would be something.

Also the detective career in Back to Work is broken as hell. I couldn't progress with the tasks because my suspect was a ghost who never appeared in the police HQ after arrest. Also the clues seem totally random. I hope the scientist and hospital careers are less buggy.

can you tell me what mods are good for making decent looking sims like that or does it just have extra slider and tan overlay?

Painting is fucking busted. If they balanced it by making shit quality paintings more likely and shit quality paintings sell for less than it costs to create them it would be a start.

Yeah and those daily tasks being so tedious just makes it feel even better. One strange thing about retail stores is the fact that people circle cheap stuff as much as they do expensive stuff. Selling 3k simoleon painting seem to require same effort as selling vegetables.

Scientist and Doctor careers work perfectly fine. Also the have way more fun stuff to play with. Especially science.

I don't think so. I suggest you just make your relatives, put them in an empty lot, and move them out individually. At least, that's how I've always done it in the past Sims games.
