>my dog is in the OP I almost feel honored. Almost.
Noah Ward
Dickwolves are feature complete except for one thing: they have the correct backstories, but those backstories actually have no effect. The backstories ought to buff their melee and shooting and force them to use the hulk bodytype, but instead they spawn with whatever skills and bodytype they want.
I've tried everything, including cribbing code from the vaginacat mod.
I just don't know.

Nutrient paste dispenser wins my award of best backup plan I ever built. >built it in the first year >didn't use it for almost a year and a half >four people get sick to the plague >involves the cook >kept the healthy colonists alive while everyone else is dying/recovering Investments pay off I guess.
Isaiah Myers
i mean you could have a low level cook just make simple meals too
Nathan Carter
Smokeleaf and beer are the mildest and least addictive drugs. Nice to have both to balance tolerance/addiction. I also recommend having a bit of flake or yay lying around in case you want to boost your melee guys or don't want your researcher to go to sleep.
Colton Hall
Probably another week give or take a few days. Maybe even two if we collect some willing modders to put some deranged shit in. Rimworld doesn't have enough autism-tier content to sustain a playerbase on Veeky Forums. It's coming along though, functional slavery, fluid dynamics and sanitation when?
Blake Brooks
doping animals, slavery, and dickwolves are community creators I suppose.
Isaac Nguyen
I really, really didn't want to train up a secondary cook to make meals.
The debuff from eating nutrient paste for me is offset my the rooms I have for my pawns. I'm a Veeky Forums fag that got recently sunk into the game. I've had it just over a month and sunk 100+ hours into it.
I used to program switches for a living, so coding isn't /that/ far fetched for me to grasp, so I might start making small mods like weapons or things like that until I get the hang of it.
Ethan Harris
so what's everyone think of the new patch? any caravan stories?
Logan Garcia
I've got one!

Great way to get rid of unwanted refugees is to give them a low quality weapon and send them on a suicide mission to the nearest raider base.
Lucas Perez
MHmm, odd. Are there any trait mods out there that you can borrow from? It might just be an issue where the new traits are not coming into effect instead of it being related to the wolf race.
I'll be happy if we have our little "reunions" whenever a new update comes out at least. Keeping alive as a general is pretty hard since we lack the same autism the good kind and background as other generals.
That being said we're doing pretty alright as a general, and if anything we've gained so much more activity than the first two-three threads we've made since the update so it's not like we're riding on the coat-tails of the update boom. From observation, it seems that between autistic funposting, storytellers, and modders, and lewders we've created a comfy little colony here in Veeky Forums. We need more haulers and cleaners, however.
I suggest we need to increase our autism by twofold and create a cult. No idea who we should worship but I imagine ((sheriff)) would be the anti-christ.
Gabriel Gray
What's up, fellow fa/tg/uy? C# wasn't too difficult for me to pick up, I'm a Java native and I've taught a bit of Unity before. It's great how moddable the game is, I'm always amazed by how much of what I want I can get the game to do.
Oliver Anderson
I never built the paste dispenser after my first colony. What makes it worth it again?
Jackson Nguyen
If you can code in C# I think we can make a rape mod.
Luke Gray
xth for Tynan adding ayys into the game
Lucas Reyes
>Are there any trait mods out there that you can borrow from? Problem is it's a backstory issue, not a trait issue, and the Orassan backstories are identical to mine (because I copy pasted them) so I have no clue why it doesn't work.
William Robinson
I can code in C# but I'm probably not going to make a rape mod. I did make the Psychology mod, however.
Jack Thomas
Us fucking fa/tg/uys are everywhere aren't we? But I'm used to C, CSS, and Python. I'm sure C# wouldn't be that big of a jump. It'll give me a break from the homebrew system I'm stuck on for sure learning it.
It's just a great backup source of medium grade food that doesn't need a cook. For me, it was a investment of a little resource for a total failure of the colony.
Alexander Allen
I don't need you to make the whole mod, just a repeatable surgery recipe in C# that causes injuries to the torso and legs. I can do the rest in .xml, but surgery recipes like recipe_kill and recipie_addartificialpart are C# affairs, and I can't add to them, only replace them (which is not ideal).
Euthanasia works, but it targets the brain not the torso so it's not ideal.
Just make a recipe_rape and I can do the rest.
Ayden Mitchell
are we alpha 17 nwo or something?
Leo Miller
Welp, I found a new wallpaper.

Caravans seem to be an interesting idea but it has limitations ranging from the annoyance of having to "set up" a large caravan and the distances you might have to move to reach a friendly settlement AND back. They seem profitable enough if you can get a route going.
However, the world map system is amazing. It suggests even more map interaction for the future such as setting up secondary colonies (we can already do that but the dev notes that it's a WIP) and perhaps some diplomatic overhauls. You can name your faction now, and other settlements belong whole nations as well, so the groundwork is there.
Horses need to be added into the game in my opinion. That, and the caravan animals (muffalo and camels) need to add a movement increase in addition to its carry weight increase to make trading a bit more viable. Perhaps even vehicles like trucks and helicopters could be added. That would be badass. As it stands, you need a clustered region of settlements to make trading truly more viable than calling in a caravan for 300/600 silver since the alternative is your caravan spending seasons away from your base as they go around your network of trade spots.
Isaiah Taylor
>It suggests even more map interaction for the future Enjoy Tynot abandoning it to add even more half-baked non-features.
We need trains for the world map, to be honest.
Colton Martinez
That would be pretty easy to do. All you need is to download HugsLib, create a new project in Visual Studio, set its .NET target to 3.5, add dependencies on Assembly-CSharp.dll and HugsLib.dll, and then throw together a Recipe_SurpriseSex from the code for another recipe. Build, throw the .DLL into the Assemblies folder, set the workerclass to MyMod.Recipe_PantsParty and you're good.
Logan Jones
>Building train tracks on blood, sweat and tears like those pioneer faggots
Hell fucking no.
Blake Morales
Trading caravans spending seasons away from the base is pretty realistic for the tech level, user.
Grayson Richardson
>keeping prisoners alive and healthy, with a luxurious prison >something went wrong and they break out >don't want to engage in melee because too risky >the one I wanted to recruit dies ;_;
Lincoln Cox
Mhmm, right. Didn't think that through. The only thing I can think of is that the code you copy-pasted from the Orassan backstories is no longer syncing up with newer additions because of new values, etc. You probably already assumed that, however.
I imagine there's sometime that should be "tying" backstory attributes and race together that's missing.
at least the subreddit is an alright place. The dev is very active there so I hang out in their threads every now and again to see what the dev may be thinking of adding to the game.
Nice wallpaper, too. It has that dwarf fortress sociopathy-lite feel to it.
James Myers
I won't disagree. It's why I want new tech added into the game to make travel a bit more convenient. Roads, horse and saddle, trains, etc.
As it stands, once you enter the late-game when you become very self-sufficient you really have no reason to use caravans anymore. I rather keep my colonists around expanding my base and working the fields, right?
Jack Ward
Comment. I'm also ignoring the potential for early-game caravans. You get a huge increase when selling goods because of the risk factor. I imagine with a decent starting base you can string together a few settlements together, buying and selling and getting a huge caravan, before bringing back a gigantic haul to your colony.
I might give caravans a shot next time.
Anthony Bailey

That might have been what cause your prison break. You can also try making sure that the "outside" area of your prison is also walled in. Like a prison attached to a closed-in hallway. Unless a wall breaks down I believe prisoners will only escape via event then.

Do you think the dev or a modder will ever update the sprites for the characters? I get it's prison architect inspired but does it have to be THIS inspired?
Gabriel Gutierrez
Time for Rough Randy. I wonder how fast will I get fucked.
Levi Roberts
See the thing about bad art in indie game isn't that they're inspired by something.
It's that they can't fucking draw.
Jose Hill
They might? I believe the only animal that doesn't eat kibble are wargs since they only eat raw meat.
Don't hold me on this.
Kayden Fisher
It's something weird I've noticed as well. For some reason the Lovecraft storyteller doesn't actually use Lovecraft monsters anywhere near as frequently as, say, Cass. I can't actually think of any instances where I've encountered Lovecraftian horrors while using Lovecraft himself.
Isaiah Wilson
you can make kibble with meat tho. Like kibble is half meat and half plant right? pawn art needs to be simple and obvious. It's then modified further by clothing and weapons so you have to keep in mind to not fuck up with too much detail because you end up with cluttered mess. I can take a peek at update it I guess. I know that Orassans mod had custom pawns.

>One colonist gets the plague >Her and another colonist fall in love while I'm getting them to build the furnace chamber to kill her in before it spreads
I don't even know if straight up killing them and disposing of the bodies in a fucking fire makes sense mechanically, but it sure seemed to work; no one else contracted the plague after she burned.
Also her lover was killed like a day later by a fox some how, so at least his misery wasn't prolonged.

I'd love trucks. And boats.
I'm annoyed that there's no rivers in the game, those would be wonderful for trade if boats were added. Imagine tribals in canoes arriving along the river. Or some trader in a barge from a settlement up/downstream. Or building docks for a large ship to dock. Pirates! Raiders on ATVs or dune buggies or pickup technicals with one driving and the other manning a pintle mounted machinegun.
I would love roads and railways on the worldmap too, and the ability to build some.
Instead of a helicopter I'd go for shuttle and landing pads for shuttles. Dropships for big pirates/raiders raids (which could be captured and used by the player) which would flatten a 15x15 (non mountain) area on landing.
Carson Mitchell

I too think that social gatherings are a bit underused in rimworld. It's just marriages and RNG parties. No religious activities, funerals or executions.
