Fiat

Which is difficult in itself.

What will become a pile of rust first?
Mazda or Fiat? Close competition.

>mazda
>pile of rust
Nigga u wot

>worse
Same performance in the Motortrend H2H, because of the ND's worse suspension. Also, no ANGRY HEADLIGHTS.

Chiptuning the ND (600£) : 17hp/10ftlbs
Chiptuning ND + CAI + full exhaust (2000£): 30hp/24ftlbs
Chiptuning the 124 (650£): 48hp/40ftlbs
Guess which will be faster: a ND with 2K invested, or a 124 with less than 1K invested.

Mazda, yes! Few months ago i saw nice clean Mazda 6 with rusty back fender, floor (under doors - dont know how to call it in ENG), and fucking rusty hole in bottom of doors.
Pic unrelated

Why so buthurt about Mazda?

>Check engine light in first 300 miles

> all these memers

>only one part of the car made in Italy
>CEL comes on

What time in the video does it show the CEL?

Common causes of a CEL:
>Spark plugs/wires
>O2 sensor
>MAF sensor
>Catalitic converter
Which are probably not even Fiat parts to begin with. More likely would be a loose gascap, routine engine maintenance. Modern Fiats use the CEL to indicate a scheduled oil change, so that's probably the likely cause, since 500km (~300miles) is often scheduled to replace the breakin oil with regular oil.

What's wrong? It's just the Italian Car Experience. My turbo Dart does it too.

>memeing about reliability
>buying a new car with a 4 year warranty
Pick one. Why should a new car buyer care if their car could fail under warranty? Bring it to the dealer, get a new one, wa la.

No one on Veeky Forums can afford a new car regardless

We recently got a thread about a guy buying a new Toyota GT86, don't generalize.

GT86 buyers are all kiddies who don't have their priorities straight and spend 90% of their income on their car payment

Not this shit again. Arent you satisfied after your last thread where you sperged out?

Was there bread on hood?

yes

Voila you double nigger

At least looks better than the Miata desu.

this long hood with the bulges makes me wish it had a DOHC Straight six instead of the SOHC I4 it has

>Straight six
You like your understeer, huh? I'd much rather have an Alfa V6 in there, it'd consirably shorten up the package compared to an I6. Iirc, the ND is just 1 cilinder short of being mid-engined (it has 1 cilinder ahead of the axle), an I6 would extend quite far beyond the axle line, and a V6 might just stay completely behind it.

>SOHC vs. DOHC
Confirmed for not understanding Multiair.

>id rather have a v6 than an i6

>I'd rather understeer into a tree, caused by the terrible CoG of my inferior iron slab, than to listen to the aural gospel that is the wail of the Busso V6

REPENT YOU HEATHEN

DEUS VULT

>the ND is just 1 cilinder short of being mid-engined (it has 1 cilinder ahead of the axle)

No it's truly an FMR

My bad, I had another cutaway in mind (NA? NB?).

Anyways, an I6 would still add excessive understeer compared to a V6 in that setup.

If Alfa still made the Busso, I would agree with you, but their V6s now come from either dodge or fiat, and I really dont want a pentastar V6 in the 124

Yeah you were probably thinking about the NA/NB since even the NC is just barely FMR

Under steering aside I honestly don't even think a straight 6 would fit under the hood

Is that fucking Salad fingers or whatever it was called?

>but their V6s now come from either dodge or fiat
Nope, Alfa used GM V6's in the 159/Brera (High Feature), not Dodge (Pentastar). Fiat hasn't had a V6 I know of since the Dino

Alfa doesn't have V6's anymore, except the Giulia QV, which is a Ferrari unit. If they ever put that into the 124, they've gone Hellcat-tier crazy.

I can remember a mate of mine who really loved his Volvo's, and he once tried to get a T5 into an NB. Apparently, it didn't even fit under the bonnet, so I don't think any I6 will. An I5 might fit with a big power bulge, but an I6 should be problematic in it's length.

>1.4 multi air

Which is why LS swaps are so popular, they're very compact for V8s

>they've gone Hellcat-tier crazy.
Wish fiat would do it
Now that they own both dodge and Alpha, they could put any crazy engine they have in the 124
Make as crazy as they can just for the fuck of it, because as the two hellcats they let dodge do, they will sell, if there is some one out there crazy enough to buy a 700hp family sedan, Im pretty sure they would also buy a light handling 2 seater convertible with similar amount of power

But nope, that is too crazy, so lets put the hellcat engine on a jeep and go rock climbing

>more power out of the box
>advanced VVT/VVL system
>powerband that's twice as large
>better fuel economy when off boost
>~50hp gains on ECU (compared to ND's ~20)
It's objectively better than the ND's 2.0.

>Fiat doesn't use the pentastar on their cars

>turbo lag
>no top end
>no sound
youtu.be/4wFuuAfYdnw?t=281
can't even inb4 you on >mawdz >muh tune

They don't even need a 500hp twinturbo Ferrari V6 to go to town with the 124. Hell, the 240hp 1.75 out of the 4C, or the 200/280hp 2.0 out of the Giulia would have been great. I think it's not FCA directly (although a 200+hp 124 would clearly threaten 4C sales), I think it's their deal with Mazda. I don't think Mazda would allow for the 124 to be sold with significantly more power than the ND.

You know where they should put the Hellcat? In the Giulia. Reveal to the world that the QV was just half-assing it, and was designed to be their equivalent of the C43/S4/340. Than make a proper Giulia SS, with an aluminium Hellcat. It should bolt right up to the existing automatic ZF transmission, and probably work just fine with the manual too (with some work).

Damn, forgot about those. Just rebadged Journeys, but still. They're as ridiculous as pic related.

MAKE
INTERCOURSE
AWFUL
TO
ANYONE

>>no top end
When you drive them back-to-back, sure. That just feels that way because the ND has a 1400RPM powerband, and the 124's is literally twice as big (3000RPM). The 124 certainly doesn't lack top end (hell, it makes more peak power than the 124), but the ND is just peaky.
>>no sound
Have you ever heard a 500 with an Abarth exhaust? They sound great. Having a quiet standard 124, and a screaming Abarth next to it gives the consumer options, which is always a good thing.
>can't even inb4 you on >mawdz >muh tune
That's because you can't refute the fact the the Skyactiv 2.0 is higher strung, higher stressed, and has less potential overall for tuning, despite not exceeding the 124's horsepower rating in stock form. Where the ND is already near it's maximum stress level, the 124 still has a lot to go.

>Have you ever heard a 500 with an Abarth exhaust? They sound great.

As someone who lives next to one no, they do not.

I own a GT86, a nice home and make more money than you.

Sorry user.

>1.3 litre tractor noises

>buying into the turbocharged meme

What do you like the most about your car?

How practical it is for a lightweight rwd car. I prefer fixed top, it has more than 2 seats so I can drive with my wife's son in the back. And it's pretty economical/reliable so it makes for a great commuter car.

Miata, s2k, corvette, Cayman, 370z are nice, but not family friendly. Pony cars and Genesis coupe are too bulky for me. And everything else is fwd/AWD.

glad to see another gt86 brah on here. Good choice man.

Cuck.

Yeah, I figured it was obvious that was a dealership photo...I guess not?

Thanks for taking the bait

it's not from the 500
it's from the Dart/Giulietta

same block slightly different configuration i know it's autism but the power figures are different

Sure you do kiddo

a few things

>reminder that with a tune and possibly upgraded intake this thing will put down 220 at the wheels
hpsimotorsports.com/hpsiunichiptuning?lightbox=image_1hr3
>its the 500 abarth motor and those have been known to do way more power than that once you start doing turbo swaps, which are easy in the fiat since its right on top, as well as standard larger exhaust and intake. The bottleneck on the 500 abarth was their shitty glass gearbox
>the fiata has the NC's gearbox which is pretty fucking stout
>the fiat abarth i think looks a little better than the ND
>the 1.4t is the most reliable thing fiat makes which is saying A LOT. it's their shitty electrics that are a nightmare and on the fiata....that's all mazda

it's like the best combination, italian engine and exhaust note and tuning potential and styling on a japanese chassis built in japan with japanese electronics

>Yeah, I figured it was obvious that was a dealership photo...I guess not?

It wasn't obvious since you said "I have a GT-86" and posted a BRZ.

You could have grabbed the first image in google but since you went for a specific "amateur" one it's obvious that you don't have the car, otherwise you would have taken a picture of a GT-86.

as a caveat, the base fiat looks like shit, honestly. the standard front is bad

>their shitty electrics

Do you realize that Fiat doesn't produce electronic parts?

Blame their supplier.

>He doesn't have an fr-s laying around for kicks
LEMEMES

Why would I waste money on a shit car?

/Thread

That's quebec, literally every car is a rusty pile within a year there.

OK...

Don't you think if I was pretending to own the car I would have posted an actual GT86 and not a brand new BRZ that just arrived this week?

I chose that picture because it was the last 86 I saved on my phone. It is a 2017 BRZ with the optional wheels and OEM Brembos.

Anything else?

I'm probably older than you too. I remember all the original memes like long cat and candleja

Careful man! You almost said Candlejack. Don't you know he c

FUCKING LONG CAT CHECK OUT THIS OLD FAG DESU

Want me to tell you what the 90s was like?

if I wanted buy any mx5 (NA,NB,NC,ND) including the Fiat and Abarth 124....

I would buy an NC and 2.5 mzr swap it.
