Is there a stat in DS3 that affects ability to parry? Got cucked the fuck up by the silver knights that used to be easy mode in DaS.

It depends on your parry tool. Medium shields are much worse than in DaS1

Just played Demon's Souls after a long time. Some observations:

-No boss is good mechanically. Bosses are generally not aggressive enough to discourage healing, and they have woefully limited movesets with swings that are sometimes laughably slow (Adjudicator, Dirty Colossus). Even bosses who approach being good, like Flamelurker, generally have AI problems that make them only decent by later series standards. Penetrator is absurdly overrated, FKA a little bit overrated but manages to be a decent boss, although he's very flawed. The best bosses in it are good for atmosphere reasons, like Storm King or Astraea.

-It's the easiest Souls game, and I don't know if if difficulty was a conscious design goal like it was in DaS3.

-There is no weapon with a unique moveset in the game.

-Weapons are generally more realistic and less flashy than Dark Souls stuff (look at the war scythe, for example). DaS3 and Bloodborne feel like anime games in comparison, in many ways.

-Very dependent on atmosphere, and therefore a bit more crippled by replaying than other titles. Astraea still affected me, even if 3-1 didn't. Still, unquestionably the most atmospheric game in the franchise.

-World tendency is stupid.

-Freke's Apprentice has a great voice actor.

-I generally dislike world 5, but no section is as bad as Dark Souls 1 and 2 can get. You can also charge through almost every area pretty quickly.

-Servers are down, which depressed me

-Old King Doran was ridiculously dumb, I didn't remember his voice lines

-Fuck the blue dragon

Used to be really into the soul's games, picked up bloodborne and put hundreds of hours into it before I burned out, saw that sotfs was on sale and I've played the base ds2 but not that so I got it and found myself bored halfway through. Reinstalled ds1 and played through most of it today and had a lot of fun. Kept my level low though since I'm sure a lot of people bought it on sale and can be invaded at lower areas. Where should I be invading at around SL55 with a lightning +5 BSS?

What about changing the number of souls ? Without any table, just loading the process and changing the souls value. I did this 3 or 4 times and never got any warning. I stopped playing for a few weeks, when I logged back in I had the invalid data detected message. I also screwed around a bit with CE table but I always have restored the back ups I made before actually screwing around.
So what the fuck, why do I get this message ?

Most people are around SL60-80 when they finish the game, I know I was. What's wrong with being at the minimum of that range to invade throughout mid to late game areas? It's part of the game and fun on both sides, I know I love it when I'm playing the main game and get invaded in any soulsbourne game. Only wish that people would do it more often, some areas seem completely dead invasion wise even if I'm human all the time.

Thanks, I'll try invading around there tonight then. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to twink or fuck with people in the first areas of the game. Those kinds of people ruin the experience for everyone, and there's really not much fun in fucking with someone who doesn't know how to play yet. I'm keeping all gear/weapons appropriate for the places I'm invading.

People say DS2 has the worst bosses. Those people never played demon's souls.

Demon's Souls was basically just a test bed for player experience, atmosphere and graphics like Armored Core 4 was, with little attention paid toward refinement, AI, replay ability, or optimization.

the bosses in DeS were easy but imo I found them a lot more original / fun than DS2. maybe I'm just looking at it through rose tinted glasses though and it's time for a replay
