Good, but make sure you have enough set aside for early preventive maintenance. Spent about $2.5k on parts (valve adjustment-kit, water pump, cooling, oil, wheels, bushings, gaskets etc) when I bought mine.

Definitely not with the SMG, that transmission was garbage and you'd almost certainly run into trouble with it. Find an e46 330 with a manual instead, sure it has 100 less horsepower but you'll actually be able to afford it and it's still a lot of fun to drive
