I've tried with a couple different monsters, even. Even a locked-in absurdly fuckmassive gold crown Ivory Lagi only netted a silver crown Jho.

Most guides, at least that I read back in the day, recommend using the Jho as the monster to obtain the lock... if you know a monster whose multiplier, with certainty, matches Jho's, I will happily fellate you.

Hey guys, newfag that just picked up Generations here. I've only ever played 3U and didn't get too far in (I stopped after beating Ceadeus and seeing the credits roll in Village, didn't touch Guild at all).

I want to know if Insect Glaive, Charge Blade, or Prowler mode are worth learning or should I should just stick with Sword and Shield like before?
Also, what's up with the styles? Is there one I should be using or is it a personal choice thing?

It's the most beginner friendly and it still has some population

MH4U is the best entry point into the series. You can go back and play MH3U after that and then MHXX when it comes to the west.

Definitely 4U. Purely from a cost effectiveness standpoint, you're kind of starting at a good time. In very loose terms: if 4U is 3/3 of a game, Generations is 2/3 of one. You've got plenty of time to sink your teeth into 4U, and you can just play the "U" version of Generations sometime later this year hopefully?
