haha, got them this time guys!
whats the point of this window?
GM is such a fucking joke.
The sad part is that you probably don't even know what makes that engine a bastard. It's nowhere near as far from any other four cam V engine as you think and you make yourself look ignorant.
>premium automobiles
Could you enlighten us then, or you're just trying to be edgy?
GM's LQ1 3.4L "Twin Dual Cam" V6
>I know! Let's take our bulletproof 3.1L pushrod MPFI V6, bore it out and convert t to DOHC!
>BRILLIANT! While we're at it, we should have a compound drive setup using both a timing chain and a timing belt, we can put a dummy cam in the spot where the pushrod cam goes!
>OH SHIT! In second gen Fiero prototypes, this engine is destroying Corvettes!
>How much power does it make?
>280 HP.
>Well let's kill the Fiero, then detune this fucker to 200 HP and stick it in a fucking Lumina. No one races Lumina's, right?
The only difference is the timing marks on the chains. They're harder to see as they're bronze instead of standard white
almost every seat in every car for 30 years has been shit unless theres a package available with recaros or some aftermarket brand of seat
why are car seats such shit
You mean how that timing chain is at the back of the engine? I don't that is very common, user.
this
It was only ever at the back of one car
19" wheels on a luxury sedan
For use on US streets
To take out groceries without them falling out after driving
>putting a dummy cam where the pushrod cam was
Did GM really put this into production?
Yes they did. Found in:
1991-1994 Chevrolet Lumina Z34
1991-1994 Chevrolet Lumina Euro3.4
1991-1996 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP
1991-1997 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme (optional)
1995-1997 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Z34
1995-1997 Chevrolet Lumina LS (optional)
1997 Chevrolet Lumina LTZ (optional)
mechanics bitched about the engine. The alternator would go every 30k, which would normally be fine if it wasn't 8 hours to replace. or that the intake manifold has to come off the replace the rear spark plugs.
The V6 is actually a POPULAR swap into Pontiac Fieros since it bolts right into place using the 2.8L mounts, can use the Fieros transmissions, and makes impressive power.
And before you ask why the engine has any fans, it makes a fucking glorious noise and was known as a 7000 RPM screamer bone stock. It's the first American designed and built DOHC V6 ever.

>overheating in idle
Is this for real or did the computer fuck out
...
Because normies literally never look underneath them, let alone take them out. In the mind of the modern designer "out of sight out of mind" is far too fucking literal.
inb4 northstar starter
>gm
what do you think
How about the entire Northstar?
I'm convinced that when GM makes something good it's entirely accidental.
Googled it. Correct me if I'm wrong but is the starter underneath the fucking valve cover?
intake manifold
Holy shit can engine designers really be this retarded ?.
Cool, you know your shit.
No.
It's under the intake manifold, which is still retarded.
The engine was known to leak oil quite badly as well.
>have to take entire manifold off to change starter
Blunder of the century
My first car, a hand-me-down 95 Monte Carlo Z34 had the engine. Good memories.
...
Should I buy a Passat with this thing? There are a few for sale for reasonable prices.
No, get a 1.9 TDI
...
They're boring. I already have a boring car
No. Get one with the 2.8 V6 so you can drop a 4.2 V8 or 2.7TT into it.
Get a 2.2 t audi and crank the shit out of the boost then.
I want to believe
If a cooling fan that normally runs while idling goes out, this happens.
what's the retarded part?
Four chains, tons of cheap plastic chain guides that wear out anywhere between 40k and 200k miles and all of that is placed on the flywheel side of the engine to reduce its length front-to-back.
Basically you need to pull the engine at some point to replace those timing chain guides or risk grenading the entire thing.
toyota's 1uz does the same thing i think. Its not a bad idea.. if you don't use shitty starters.
No Dorito?
I'm dissapointed Veeky Forums
