They're limited to nova builds.

Problem is that for all their mobility, agility and structure quirks, they do that job worse than the nova most of the time due to their obnoxious size.

11-12x small pulse laser has it's niche in knife fighting, but a Gargoyle will be easier to focus down to half strength than the new nimble and small Nova, which will absolutely murder its targets with its 12x small pulse or er small laser build.

It used to have alternative 1x ballistic + 6x energy builds, but thanks to the nerfs to UACs, those are gone.

They're fun but kind of bad, like a fat nova or slow stormcrow. They only run variations of one build. 12spl, 6ersl + 6erml, or the spicy 12erml.

Any builds other than 12 lasers, be it 6SL 6ML or 12SPL, have never been worth a damn compared to those on the Gargoyle.

And the Gargoyle is an okay mech when you get into building group queue drop, since it's tanky and will keep up with so many other mechs, making it easy to coordinate your whole group in pushes and early game movements etc.

forgot to mention, the important part is not so much that you can have 12spm, but that you can fire 36 in a row without overheating.

the gargoyle used to be an absolute monster IMO before they fuked up the % of favorable maps with the release of the last 2 maps that are terrible for it.

with modules you have a 130 mph 720 max range medium range harasser with a deadly alpha. The heat works as a remainder to always keep moving, you never stand still, shoot and search new cover as you cool down, I cant tell you how many times I kill heavy and assault mechs with a good placed stab in the back, it might be a meme, but it's a spice meme, i have 400+ games with it and it's still fun to play and with b+ results (440 dmg avg)

I'm considering upgrading from two c-lrm-20s to two c-lrm-15s+a, but I want to know if this is a good investment. I have just under 1.9m cbills, and only own three mechs currently. Is upgrading the lrms on my one mech to artemis a good choice, or should I save for a new mech instead? If I do go for another mech, I was planning on buying a different variant of one I already have, for mastery purposes mainly.

Yeah, I just tried it and did 450 dmg. That heat is brutal. For sure removing TC and adding 1 HS would have improved my dmg, but not by a lot.

Only buys mechs in threes so you can max skills out. Enjoy saving assloads of Cbills for assaults.
