Previously on /hotsg/:

Should you focus down Zul'jin down in a teamfight? Or focus on other heroes?

Last game I had a situation where we would get Zul close to dying and then get wiped by crazy attack speed.

Do you just need burst or CC?

CC him when he's close to death, or burst him from a little bit more.
It's all or nothing with that guy, either make sure he dies, or don't touch him until you've taken the rest down.

and to think people wanted le ebin wow troll voice over this one that we got

BLIZZAAAARD WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS SHIT

>"to help reduce queue times, AI may be added to both teams"

You need to cc him at about 25% health and then nuke him down.
Or you can nuke him down and then run away for 4 sec and then turn around and kill them.

Bit tough in a pug environment, but I guess people will eventually figure it out.

It was frustrating seeing out Zul'j at 3/4ths health constantly while theirs seemed to steadily maintain 1/4th. Though I think they were partied with a master BW.

Brawls don't matter. Relax and enjoy the show.

>wanna play zul jin
>every match has zeratul, varian, nova on the other team
>everyone in QM is a mega tryhard who throws shitfits over the smallest things
>everyone in Unranked bans the troll even though he's not even good

W H Y
H
Y

What the fuck?

Welp, I guess imma buy that bear mount so Rexxar can ride on it.

I thought that was a joke

>that anatomy
>that posture

>new hero added
>ulti cds are 60s and 45s
I think they need to add more IMPACT to those ultis

ye, hinterlands blast treatment is required :^)

Fuck, how can I be so unlucky?

I just started HOTS and my first five quick matches were unbearable.
Every single time my team was composed of people that are clearly learning how to play, not even right clicking correctly.
While the opposing team are a bunch of XxXMLG_EliteXxX pros and it's always extremely one-sided.

I'm not that good myself but I've played MOBAs before so I kind of put up a fight, but holy shit.

Any other non-native english speakers here happy thye'll never again have to break their tongues on "Vulnerability"?

stop playing alone, ask for group in the Veeky Forums channel

Valla has a fat ass, I never noticed this before.

new hero does 2000 dps while invulnerable this is okay and balanced :^)

then it heals for all the damage done during invulnerable :o)

>invulnerable
Whoa.
I want you to slow down and think about what you're saying.
Invulnerable is a mechanic where a hero becomes unstoppable and takes 0 damage (though still targetable) during the duration.
Zul'jins does neither of those, he just can't be reduced below 1 health during that 4 second duration.
This is easily dealt with by any cc, aoe and dot to finish him off at the end of the 4 seconds.
If you focus a Zul'jin at the start of the teamfight then your team should have all their cooldowns off to deal with this. If you somehow bring a Zul'jin low enough for him to use Taz'dingo without bursting him before he hits it and not being able to do anything about it during those 4 seconds that's your fault for mindlessly tunnel visioning them.

>heroes are targetable during invulnerable

WEW LADS

APOLOGIZE

How do I git gud at this game?

>new hero does 2000 dps while invulnerable
It's only 1.8k DPS for full DPS builds.
And he also has to activate it at literally the last possible moment if he wants to have 4 seconds of that. You can just CC him when he gets low so he can't activate it, or burst him down before he gets the idea to activate it.
Also, he's not invulnerable. Dots will mess him up, and he still receives damage, so he can't heal with Regeneration, mount up, or just Hearth away if he's about to get ganked.

>then it heals for all the damage done during invulnerable
Not all the damage, just 50%, and it will still only put him at 80% life afterwards IF he manages to do this for 4 seconds.
CC him, and he heals for less, because he's still not invulnerable. Imposing Presence will halve that. Outright stunning him? Same thing.
Or like, just go away. Dude has no mobility, the most he can ensure is getting one kill guaranteed with the net, but then he immediately dies afterwards.

I love Diablo but I wish Lightening Breath was less of a shit skill, the spell effect is fucking awesome.

Look at the minimap
Have a basic understanding of each hero's abilities and talent choices
Know at least 3 heroes of each role.
Learn how to switch up your talents based on allied and enemy comps
Don't dance around aimlessly, get more aas in
Don't just panic and run away when low on health, run towards something, have a plan, know if you have a chance to reach safety or try to do as much damage as possible before you bite it

Learn to move with team and how to properly soak between objectives

Don't get cocky after a big level difference, too many people go for those go kills and dive too hard, getting themselves killed. This is a good way to turn the game in the enemy favor.
Don't play too safe either, a lot of the time if you don't press the advantage you give the enemy much more time to do something about it.
Don't stay in lane too long as some heroes, the ideal time to back for mana is immediately after clearing a wave.

Play until you're on the winning forced 50%, when you're on the losing forced 50% just alt tab to watch anime and try to rejoin at the last minute just to avoid the leaver penalty.

check your minimap constantly
check your positioning (especially if you're not playing tank)
try every hero so you understand the respective gameplay and how to play against it
know who and when to focus
stutterstep (moving and attacking when the attack animation resets) is very important if you're playing AA heroes (valla, raynor, zul'jin, tychus if you can manage lol)

now if you're playing with drafts you should learn more about team comps

>Played Brawl in the American region to get the gold
>I'm only lvl 22 there
>Get matched vs a legit noob guy with 4 bots on each team

If you're here, I'm sorry this happened to you dude, I promise this game is fun.

Blizzard, your game is a fucking joke

Why am I going against five stacks what the fucking shit Blizzard

Watch for animations and listen for queues, if medic goes to stim you and you waste the first few seconds dancing around like a faggot then it gives the enemy more time to pull out and let it expire.
Same for enemy medic, you can interrupt that shit throw off their fight.
Especially for chromie (and Zul'jin's guillotine, among other heavily broadcasted abilities), you can see what direction her shit is going to fly, you shouldn't be taking any hits from her unless they come from behind a wall or while you're cc'd or being chased.

Don't waste mana on minions, especially when moving as a team. I see too many people all press their waveclear button when only one or two of you needed to stop.
During laning it's more important since you want to balance mana between poking and clearing. With aoe you ideally want to do both in one.
If you have a big damage low cooldown ability then it's fine to prioritize it on minions to push in the wave and pressure them, but if it's low cooldown low damage you want to spend more time poking, especially if you have a lane partner who can focus on the minions for you.

BE QUEST FRIENDLY
Take a look at your teammates talents, helping them to get quick stacks in regen master is extremely helpful, especially if they're roaming.
Watch to see if they're nearby before you kill that wizard minion, or don't spend you mana clearing a wave if Rag has his minion quest.

This is why I play Abathur, you don't have to worry about reconnecting before the game ends because you never get kicked for afk

What the fuck areyou meant to do when you're playing from behind? Everyone always talks about how it's so easy to comeback or some shit but when the enemy controls the map and beats us in team fights, what the fuck are you meant to do? Nothing? I don't fucking get it.

>go afk the entire match
>team doesn't even realize it

I always wondered what that guy trying to solo camps on the other side of the map and constantly walking into 3v1s was thinking.

>they introduce bots to brawl because not enough people are queuing
>less people queue because who the fuck wants to play against bots
>everyone playing brawl has 4 fucking bots on their team

>teammate gives you shit for being afk
>the rest of the team starts attacking him for not knowing how Abathur works

What is this fucking meme lately where every game needs to 100% team reliant and if you have one piece of shit who can't use a fucking keyboard you use lose right at the start of the game. I am so fucking tired of this. Fuck I hate video games so much.

le competitiff scene
people don't understand that this shit doesn't work without organized teams EVERY MATCH and that most people don't want to play in premades

You guys need to realize there's only the same 50 or so people in these threads every day and no one's interested in you stale slug stories.

My friend got shit for playing abathur correctly on a brawl and the person said "just leave abathur you aren't even doing anything a bot is better than you" not even joking.

Fuck me I want the War Bear, but I don't want to pay $15 for it, considering I already bought Zul'jin with gold.

I can buy it for you if you suck my dick real good.

you need to kill them, there's no other way to comeback

i bought it, it's great

>internet cuts out for 3 seconds during hero league hero select after I bump into the cable for my wireless adapter
>lose half my progress to the next rank and get tossed in leaver queue

What the shit

p. sure they sell it out of the bundle later.

CHROMIE SKIN WHEN!!!!??

Mal'Ganis when?

Why is Zul'jin so sexualized in this game?

So how's Nazeebo now?

mid tier if you manage to drag the game to lvl 20

ZUL'JIN GO WHERE ZUL'JIN GO

Trash. Just play Sylvanas or Xul if you want a spec god fucking damn it.

anyone tried W build ZJ? is it not that trash?

hes a forest nigger thats why
Swahili man

>xul
you mean ragnaros who is just a straight up better xul at this point?

Well, shit.
Which R?

>I DOO WHAT JEW WANT
What does the troll mean by this?

How to play Sylvanas?

Both of Zeebos ults are shit.
Garg is least shit.

garg with the voodoo ritual talent

>Arthas is low tier
>nerf him anyway
I don't understand

What is the right thing to do in that scenario?
An objective spawning vs a couple merc camps pushing down a lane.

It's a cuban affectation you fucking idiots

So it turns out that Zul'jin's W/Ability Power build is actually the good one

Who would've guessed

This.

Whoever though adding diablo 3 and starcraft to this game was a retard, they should've just made it warcraft 4 and be done with it.

i would have guessed. only silvershitters thought they could just AA all day with tazdingo

if the lane isn't being actively pushed by mercenaries, objective
if it is, it's an attempt to stall the objective 4v5

Why do faggots insist on drawing out a match for another five minutes by defending when we've already lost all keeps and the other team hasn't even lost a fort?

>ever picking something other than Gargantuan
He isn't great, but he's the best you have.

Pick Vile Infection if you get the stacks you should definitely aim for this, it basically triples your fucking damage against everything and there's no reason not to play Carry 'zeebo if you ain't taking this., if you somehow fuck up and aren't even close, kill yourself and take the Garg talent.

>look at patch notes again
>they added health reduction and health regen reduction after giving him his minor buff

Why. He might've actually worked his way into playability with just the 15% reduction

say who?

>queue up for qp
>outdamage the KT for the first 12 minutes of the game
>as medic

>give him 15% damage reduction
>reduce his health by ~15%
I just don't fucking get it.

Well not really Taz'Dingo but just the overall AA was everything he was hyping up to be
Several pro players
One root/stun and you can line up a good talented W to do shittons of damage

Good to know.

How about Azmodan? It's been too fucking long since I played this.

Azmo just got buffed so who knows how good he is now.

He's a god in low ranks because he's a god at autismpushing and autismpushing is OP in low ranks.

>Several pro players
Several of them also said aa was better. I'm going to wait for the general consesnsu.

Autismpushing as in brainless, nonstop pushing of a lane?

Hey guys, maybe Zul'Jin is like Rag and both builds are good.

It's a netbuff because a lower health but higher armor means that his self-healing is more effective, this isn't difficult guys

His health was reduced by 7%, not 15%.

I haven't done any math on it yet, though, so I don't know what percentage of lethal damage needs to be physical for the armor to outweight the health reduction. I know for anub it's like 30-35% ability damage before his armor becomes a buff.

My guess is so he doesn't get destroyed by % basd attacks, like Tychus, Kharazim ult and so on.
But reducing health regen seems like a dick move.

They always change regen when they change max health for any hero.

aa build is amazing with a strong front line and healers
axes are amazing any other time

Can confirm this.

What are the best heroes for solo queue quick match?

Does that justify nerfing a hero that isn't even used more than single digit % of the time in games played currently?

Multiple lanes, even.

He's next coming out next month, right?

Blizz doens't releases funny heroes anymore

Why the hell would I ever take Sulfuras Smash over Lava Wave? It seems completely inferior.

>play abathur
>getting 2 lanes of exp most game
>swapping over to teamfights and poking at enemies to help
>team bitching about how I'm not helping or doing anything
>ignore that I have double the exp contribution of anyone and almost as much hero damage
>team loses their fucking minds when I get MVP

Abathur, Vikings, Nova the list goes on.

Probably on more teamfight oriented maps/comps where the teamfight helping is more important than the extra lane pressure.

I always take lava wave anyways though because I suck at aiming Sulfuras Smash.

Datamine said the 22nd.

>be top siege damage and xp contribution on any fucking specialist hero
>team blames me for the lose
>even though I participated in most teamfights and objectives that THEY lost

I'm more surprised when Abathur doesn't get MVP. It's like Nova. I just expect them to get MVP with the way the system works.

>wow troll voice
That's the troll voice since WC3, not WoW. What we got is closer to the WC2 version, which makes sense.
