Why the fuck did IS even bother putting female characters into the game? Outside of Femui, if you choose to play as her, or Azura, literally not a single female character in your army can be considered important to the plot. Not even the female royals do anything worth noting; the male Royals do everything. How did we reach this point?

So, I've been coming up with ways Fates could've had a salvagable plot, and here's something I thought of: What if Izana ended up being the true villain of Revelations? Think about it. Firstly, his whole "talking to the gods to give a fortune" ability: how is it that Izana is able to just casually roll up to them and say "Sup bro?" Not to mention, if he can talk to gods, then it would seem reasonable for him to already know about Anankos, and by extension, Corrin's backstory. This would also explain his incredibly casual death scene. Thoughts?

Honestly, as much as I hate Azura, she makes the littlest sense to make evil. The reason I think the idea with Izana would work is due to the fact that not much is revealed about Izana. He's a king, which tells us he's in a high position of power, but never actually uses it openly.

Based on what we're told about Izana ingame, his ability implies that he could even talk to Anankos if he wanted to. It'd be kind of interesting to see Anankos turning out to in actuality become Izana's pawn due to Anankos being driven pretty much by pure malice. Izana's motives could perhaps be something like wanting to gain more territory, but not wanting to break Izumo's neutrality with Nohr and Hoshido until the right time to strike (IE: When Corrin and co. go into Valla).

Well I mean, back when we first mistook the events of Ch 26 in Revelations for Gunther pulling a legitimate backstab, a lot of us thought it was the coolest thing ever.

Garon's motives aren't boy I love killing more than anything... except making the one guy who is doing everything he can to be loyal to me suffer.

Where he's positioned in the plot, as one vs another route lead, it's awful to make him cartoonishly evil. Have him be an asshole trying to protect the land from a greater evil and he is tricked by prophecy into thinking Corrin and Azura have to die to stop the demons from returning or something appropriate for a midboss motivation.

The whole thing with the kids coming from a bad future where their moms ended up dead anyway at least made it feel a bit more plausible in Awakening.
Along with the sexist but I'd think accurate idea that the men would be more likely to fight to the death than the women.

I guess it doesn't help that you have all these royal females and Felicia in Fates who also refuse to die, so the few gen 1 females that do fight to the death seem like outliers, rather than the series norm.

And then you have the kids who all go get themselves killed when HP hits 0.

If it was up to me to fix the plot, I'd at least start with the following:

>make the morality of the choice less obscenely one sided, make nohr a cold efficient empire instead of a big evil anime one, make hoshido a little more savage like they sometimes rarely are shown to be
