IF you have a stage 2, 335i for a cobb stage 2 requires a larger intercooler, and high flow cat.

But noone says I have a stage 2 (vehicle), They say I have a STI with a Stage II cobb tune, which the tune itself requires certain upgrades to be done first.

And in general tells you how many horses your vehicle have if you know how much the tune normally makes.

Personally I run a tune for 91 octane even though 93 is available here. Until I actually start building the engine, I feel that it's safer to be more conservative.

Educate yourself. It has to do with the supporting mods+tune. Stage 1 is generally a cold air intake+tune, stage 2 is generally an aftermarket down/J-pipe plus some boost control modifications depending on MY+tune. It's the accepted way to refer to modifications in general, but anyone that brags about being "Stage whatever" is trying to hard.

Morons. I hate when idiots say "Ive got a stage 2 terbo on mah shitbox." ... What is that? "Its a stage tew" .. What is that? "Are you deaf? I said its a stage tew terbow"... How many bar of boost does it produce in its optimum operating range? "Its a stage tew. It says so on eBay."...

As someone pointed out, its a worthless word. The only time it makes any sense is when you are comparing a product from the same exact manufacturer from the same line.... At that point ,it generally means they've tacked on some additional tweak, above and beyond "stage one", which again is pointless when used outside of that one manufacturer's one product line.

In other words, would people stop using this stupid stage shit, and actually learn the specifications of what they are proportedly purchasing and installing? It's much easier to take you seriously if you tell another person that you've installed a T03/T04 turbo with a .60 AR wheel, and the unit is capable of producing 18 PSI boost.... Then someone may be able to compare it to what they have, or what they've seen elsewhere.
