Pick one?

I was busy buying contracts, rather than some horribly illiquid ETF?

Billionaire investor Warren Buffett famously stated that "diversification is protection against ignorance. It makes little sense if you know what you are doing." In Buffet's view, studying one or two industries in great depth, learning their ins and outs, and using that knowledge to profit on those industries is more lucrative than spreading a portfolio across a broad array of sectors so that gains from certain sectors offset losses from others.

Sounds like a weak appeal to authority, to me. But you're missing the point. Warren Buffet diversifies because he's knowledgeable in what he's diversifying with. Offsetting losses is the only way to make long term gains. That's why we have indices. Without diversification, you'll have better odds gambling in a casino.

>you believe the only money i have is the one on my robinhood?

Congrats. You got lucky. There was no way you somehow knew Iran would "cooperate" with OPEC and that Russia might follow suit. The market, and other meetings pointed towards the contrary. People didn't listen because despite being correct, it was actually a retarded trade. I hope you're selling. The price will pull back and be unsustainable when shale oil plays quickly rebound. Enjoy your shekels.

I'll amend my comment. You didn't sell yet. You've made nothing so far.

...

what are you 65? diversifying is retard

>its an ETN
Regardless, it's still illiquid as fuck, slippage will cost you out the ass.

> i was talking to the index shills
Yeah well, not everyone on here is a newbie.

"slippage" is only a problem if the futures price is going in the opposite direxion of the product ;)

Lol.
It's a problem for both "direxions".
>So sold on leveraged products he's using the company name as a noun

u ever trade on the otc?

its pretty liquid, even 2 sell bankrupt penny shit.

>trade on the otc
Wow.

youtube.com/watch?v=z4uI_YSiMm8

honestly though, i make most of my money on otc stocks, took awhile to learn them but there is alot of money to be made in them.

>took awhile to learn
>alot of money to be made
How long have you been "learning", and how much have you made?

you've never traded futures before, have you?

I'm sure that would make you feel better, but I trade them regularly.
Sorry about that.

prove it.

>prove it
Like that's possible on this board.
I'm not the one claiming to trade ETN's and otc stocks, you are. Face it, if you knew dick about trading crude, you would've been buying contacts instead.

you lose or make way more money.
if your future goes backwards , you could end up owing thousands or contract dissapears.
yea.
i know a thing or 2 kiddo, have over 1000 years simulation trading experience on futures options bonds commodities and common stocks ;).

>have over 1000 years simulation trading experience
Have fun with that, kiddo.
Maybe someday you'll try the real thing.

You can't be serious. They are literally delisting uwti and dwti in less than a week. You money shall disappear. investopedia.com/news/leveraged-oil-etfs-face-delisting-uwti-dwti/

>You money shall disappear.

is it true?
is ignorance really bliss?

>Your money shall disappear
Lol.
That's not what the simulation told him!

Absolutely true. Do a google. I'd sell ASAP. The closer you get to the 8th the less liquid the ETF will become. It'll be almost impossible to get out of.

ETN rather.

have u ever sold anything on the otc, or you just flapping ur gums?

My initial thought was shale business was going to come back en masse. Rig counts will start gaining again. Ride the wave now but it wont last. Too bad DWTI is getting delisted.

What happens when they expire? On my paper trade I cant get rid of a short oils contract from june.

Prop trader for the last 5 years. I know my shit.

gayest looking windows 95 software i ever saw

what have you bought, that you haven't been able to trade otc?

u get credit deposit or physical delivery if u need physical.

>haven't been able to trade otc
I'm approved for options, futures, forex, and portfolio margin, but they tell me I need at least $250,000 before they'll let me trade OTC.
Sucks.

These days virtually nothing since I'm at a boutique firm. Back when I worked for a oil trust I bought shares of FB before the IPO, several pharma companies pre-ipo.

A and you have trouble selling them over the counter ????

Are you still bag-holding VHC?

yes
it makes up over .5% of my portfolio.
to the moon , my friend.

WARNING:
UWTI will be DELISTED in only 7 days.
Why the fuck are you people still buying it? It will be worthless in 7 days!!

UWTI is an index of oil stocks and high-volatility derivatives. It is NOT a company. Hence, knowing that it will delist in 7 days is not an indication of bankruptcy, collapse, bad business, etc.
Furthermore, high-volatility ETFs/ETNs like UWTI and DWTI aren't meant to be held for more than ~2-3 days at a time. Anybody holding it for more than 7 days is titanically retarded and deserves to lose their money.

For the record, UWTI/DWTI fags should look into GUSH/DRIP. It's basically the samething.

>netbeans
Get Eclipse or, better yet, IntelliJ you fukken scrub

Everybody calm down.

Just let OP be lucky and happy for the moment. Berkshire Hathaway is diversified as fuck so he obviously has no clue what he's talking about.

Just let OP be lucky. Because only when the tide goes out do you discover who's been swimming naked.
