What do people use to solo Hellblade without wanting to kill themselves?

Determination

for materials in the crafting menu, you can click in the left stick to get a "where to find this" on each material, which gives you the rank, monster or method of obtaining.

then you use the google doc on fist.moe/ to find out which monster, look up the icon and then find a quest for that monster by the icon.

for regular items, experience with the other games helps a lot. you should be able to tell what most relevant items are by icon/maximum inventory capacity, etc.

crafting takes a bit of detectivework on the google doc sometimes but once you're hunting the language doesn't matter at all.

is there any point to raw weapons in frontier? it seems to be pretty elemental focused.

Since element isn't effected by motion values or most attack up skills, raw is still quite important, even for quick attacking weapons like SnS and DS.
The major difference is that most weapons usually come attached with an element so you can tack on extra damage with it for the slower weapons like GS and Hammer providing you don't lose too much raw.

Only weapon I've seen that can go all in on element and get away with it is the Tower SnS where you can choose to have 4000+ of a single element and just dump it.
Of course some weapons just feel like having your cake and eating it too.

This is actually a solo play issue most likely to happen when one pauses the game to do something else, then comes back later and finishes the hunt having forgotten it was a capture quest.

Online there will usually be at least one player who remembers it's a capture quest and who will spam "Let's capture"

It's not about knowing when to capture, it's about forgetting you're supposed to capture.

Yes, for sure I am literally the only person in this general who occasionally forgets he's on a capture quest and ends up killing the monster, then gets frustrated as a result. :^)

That is such pure, unbridled, distilled lack of fun. What the fuck, I'll usually even defend against Frontier shitposting but that's about unforgivable. Ballsy staggers are what make the game fun to play after a thousand hours, this is such a bad idea it's really blowing my mind right now

First time hearing it, I'm with these guys. Is there anything more to it than that? I'm thinking I must not be fully understanding you because that is just shockingly bad. I could understand if it was while winding up some big Frontier-tier AoE, but is it really every attack animation? Total garbage.

definitely not every attacking animation. i staggered gougarf out of an attack today with a wyvern fire.

maybe only aerial attacks or stuff that would break animations?

LBG. Will likely kill it before I expend my internal shots with the Nebula, even when devoting attention to aiming for the water-resistant blast-infused tail and face.

I'd give LBG a try but I hear it's literally impossible without evasion skills.

This does not feel like a victory

There are only really a few stagger proof attacks which funny enough are usually also death proof, and you'll be able to kick them to death the moment the attack ends are really big animations that would cause weird effects or animation skips should the monster stagger.
A good case and point is Odi's beam where he turns 360 degrees while shooting.

It's also sometimes hard to tell due to the higher end monsters having very high stagger limits, but I'd say you could expect every monster at mid G or higher to have at least one super armor attack while everything else is fair game.

The herb horn heals less than in 4U and is often their most used, they almost never use the mega, and it requiring 3 notes instead of two make it an almost certainty they'll be interrupted
Though their ai is slightly better
