>Ford global product chief Raj Nair confirmed to me that the Bronco will be an all-new model based on the Ranger's chassis, with new styling that nods to the Bronco's heritage
>Nair also confirmed to me that the new Bronco won't be based on the Everest, a Ranger-based SUV that Ford sells now in Australia, China, and some other places. I had speculated last week that the Bronco might turn out to be an Americanized Everest, but Nair was clear: It will be an all-new vehicle much more in line with Ford Broncos of decades past. As of now at least, there are no plans to sell the Everest in the U.S.
I dont want to sound hopeful, but that sounds like the kind of thing I want to hear

When will this fucking Bronco shilling end?
It's going to be massively underwhelming, just watch.
Zachary Martinez
Looks like someone got >Ecoboosted
Nicholas Watson
>shilling on a poorfag board The Wrangler is finally getting a competitor, are you not hyped?
Colton Moore
like, what's your problem dude
Xavier Cruz
>ranger with a bodykit
Parker Young
>global product chief >curryshit Dropped.
Aiden Lopez
>car discussion and news on a car board >of an upcoming car >shilling
Robert Myers
So it is pretty much going to be a Ford version of the FJ Cruiser formula (Americanised body on a Prado platform). I'm 100% OK with this.
Michael Gutierrez
>The Wrangler is finally getting a competitor In the same way it had a competitor when the FJ was being sold.
Lucas Peterson

Toyota CuckJ vs Domestic Truck
One of these is not like the other.
Lincoln Wood
>domestic truck Both are based on a global platform with an American designed body. The only thing more domestic on the Ford is the badge. >Americans are actually this retarded
Carter Hughes
Kek
Nathaniel Stewart
this means
>IFS
Liam Jenkins
Nothing wrong with that. Unless getting fully sick fleks pictures of your rig is your idea of offroading heaven. I'd be very surprised if there won't be an aftermarket Dana44 conversion kit developed within the first year of release.
Cameron Russell
there's everything wrong with that if it wants to be competitive
wrangler has 2 solid axles with optional m/t's and locking diffs all the land rovers have a fantastic traction control system that will pretty much pull it through anything cayenne/macan, same thing
unless this thing is $50k, it's not going to be able to hold a candle to any of the other offroaders
Camden Myers
>there's everything wrong with that if it wants to be competitive Didn't stop the FJ. >wrangler has 2 solid axles with optional m/t's and locking diffs With a four link front and rear no less. IT's a pretty specialised piece of gear, but not really appropriate to a mass market SUV. >all the land rovers have a fantastic traction control system that will pretty much pull it through anything Which are unibody Independent front and rear. >unless this thing is $50k, it's not going to be able to hold a candle to any of the other offroaders I honestly don't see any reason it won't slot into the market where the FJ left off.
Dominic Rivera
>appropriate to a mass market SUV if people are buying it, then it IS appropriate
and as for your remarks about the land rover and cayenne, one of the reasons they're so expensive is because they have independent suspension comfort with a ton of tech and software to keep it slogging through rough terrain, and that is very expensive to R/D.
Ford's Bronco is just gonna be a grocery-getter aimed right at women in the midst of a crisis who couldn't justify getting one of those factory-lifted Wranglers
Leo Thompson
>if people are buying it, then it IS appropriate For a stripped down glorified crawler bugger named a Wrangler maybe. >and as for your remarks about the land rover and cayenne, bla bla bla bla >Ford's Bronco is just gonna be a grocery-getter bla bla bla bla A) The new Bronco is all but confirmed to be built on a platform that's proven its capability offroad for the last five years, that not only outperforms the Touareg/Cayenne, but is at least as capable as any model Discovery. B) You seem to be forgetting the Bronco hasn't had a live axle front end for almost 40 years, and that hasn't impeded the name right up until the last model.
Anthony Peterson
Sorry for being a slowfag, but just to get some clarification.. The new Bronco will be shared with the Ranger's chassis but won't have a similar body as the Ranger?
Benjamin Clark
There are 2 fucking trucks on the market that don't have IFS now and they're 3/4 or 1 ton trucks. Get over it.
Brandon Morris
Basically yes. This article confirms the "Ford designer" that came on reddit and claimed the new Bronco will be nothing more than a facelifted Everest (itself an SUV version of the Ranger) was nothing more than a shitposter that trolled an awful lot of people. While it will still be based on the Ranger/Everest platform, it'll have a completely different body ala the FJ Cruiser.
Caleb Rivera
Can't wait to see if it scores the Ranger's diesel option for us overlanders. Interested to see if the Ranger will ultimately cop a V8 option once it lands Stateside, like the older Chevrolet Colorado.
Carter Gray
I hope it has a V8 version.
Ford confirmed all their ecoboost engines will have stop-start and I cant stand that.
Bentley Reyes
>bronco hasnt had live axle front end for 40 years >bronco hasnt existed for 21
Adam Taylor
Because an extended cab Raptor with an enclosed bed is too hard?
Lucas Gonzalez
F150s have looked ugly since 86
Brody Robinson
>didnt stop the FJ
the FJ wasnt competitive.
Jaxson Baker
Unless the stop-start function can be overridden, I agree. Otherwise I'd love the twin turbo six. That was my point. For almost the last 20 years of the Bronco's existence it didn't have a live front axle anyway. >the FJ wasnt competitive. In what regard?
