The only bad part is that they are kind of small so I frequently miss since its usually an across-the-map shot. Good thing that most of them have such bad tunnel vision that they don't even notice and don't move.

My favourite tactic in my AMX ELC is to find an isolated OI and ram my gun right in his side or rear and just systematically unload until dead or more enemies arrive. The gun on the Japanese Heavies can depress low enough to hit small tanks. Also works with the Ru251 for higher tiers, but is a bit trickier.
