8-9 seconds: lol nigga what your street car cant run 9s theres a handful at most that runs 10s

600s end up around 10 or maybe high 9's with a really good launch.
Leader bikes ive seen run low 8's non modified.

Don't lie

14 is fast

ive been ridden a handful or pretty quick cars (10-12 sec cars) and honestly for a daily or regular vehicle thats bigtime overkill, but fun. weve become so numb to power tho its amazing

is this for 0-60? 1/4mile?

1/4 mile

>MFW 16.6

WEW LMAO

14's are family sedan territory nowadays

...

pfft my 2001 honda civic (pic related) can pull a 11.3

it's okay bro. I know that feel

is this a repainted Grand National?

liter bikes aren't that fast on the quarter mile. they just flip over

its just a Regal

Will it's a t-type

yes nothing special

not that a GN is either

It's semi special. Not like a turbo 3.8 firebird, but still decent. Don't see them that much anymore.

I'll have you know my mom drives like a fucking lunatic

Regardless of speed, it is PERCEPTION by your passenger that matters. Here's what I do to some of my coworkers when going out to eat (we get long lunch breaks due to semi-flex time).

I drive by several turns I know well including a wide curve where even if I lose control a bit and spin, I won't wreck or hit something as it is inside and not at the guard rail. I deliberately talk up a storm to set the mood and prep the passenger victims. I somewhat drift around a few turns that I know and only if there are no other cars that can be hit if I drift too much. That gets them going. I keep talking and then slide a little in that curve. I am not high speed but that curve is smooth and not bumpy.

Now they are good and traumatized although I was below the residential speed limit at all times. Back at work, I get accused of being the HIGH SPEED driver. So it's all a matter of perception sometimes by the passengers. Just like telling a ghost story, you shape their expectations and then reveal the *BOO* and if you prepped them right, the surprise moment has far far greater impact than if you just simply moved forward with the story in a matter of fact way.

So, to someone riding your car, you can "gain" 3 to 5 "virtual" seconds if you prep them with the proper story. Of course, dealing with other people using such a story and shaping their expectations is politics.

>I somewhat drift

Okay bud. Enjoy your FR-Shitbox.

I do enjoy it. Pushing the edge occasionally is good enough for me. While the thrill of drifting a corner at 35MPH in a nice car is more intense, drifting at 20MPH in a non-expensive car is not so bad either. There is still drift occurring. But at the much slower speed, the thrillride intensity is definitely far less. But my skills or daring is not like that of drivers in some of those reckless youtube videos.

While I am not living in the limelight, I'm not in the dark either. Just the darker side of twilight is fun enough for me. I have to see one kid get his engineering degree and my other will get her masters eventually. Their achievements are a big enough thrill. I could have gotten a lot more car, but I chose to put the money into my kids.

Sad!

Still most cars can`t keep on with me robot to robot.

>What is fast?
Ahh, no one dares post their modded passenger car times. Their K&N filter probably didn't work after all.

my car runs mid 14s from mid-low 15s stock

K&N filter
downpipe
exhaust

>8s
>just a couple of simple modifications
no. There is one that runs mid 10s out here and he has the boost turned way up

Ford GT V6 Ecoboost/thread
We'll see your tears again at the next Le Mans

>tfw m'y shitbox would probably struggle to do mess than 19 seconds

;_;

at-at least it's rwd, right guys ?

>mfw quarter mile time unknown because no one has ever raced it

thats why you simulate it then get disappointed by the results

what car

Toyota Auris 1.4 D-4D

ran 18.47-18.54

Well, at least I'll get a lot of time out of my money.

drag racing
>no driver skill involved,
>who can spend the most money

Time attack:
>most of the guys who go are amazing drivers
>most of the field is street class cars, i.e. still street legal and most are driven to the track
>extremely diverse drivers, from boomers to young kids with daddy's money
>majority are actually somewhat smart because there is so much more involved in time attack from engineering know-how, to car setup, to driving.

god i fucking hate north america.

>modern big-inch racing machines

What's wrong with pushrod, I don't feel like dealing with OHC/DOHC, shits a fucking chore

>Ford GT V6 Ecoboost/thread
>We'll see your tears again at the next Le Mans
EPA will catch Ford cheating too. Then we'll call your car "EcoCheat" instead of "EcoBoost".

>drag racing
>no driver skill involved

On a shitbox? Yeah, no skill involved. On a modern car that launches itself, has 4WD, traction control and a semi-auto gearbox? No skill involved. But otherwise, you're ridiculously wrong, Mr. Benchracero Retardo.

Get off Time Attack's dick, everyone knows it's pay2win.

Ironically, you don't even see the car's owner driving at top-tier Time Attack like WTAC. They litterally pay a better driver to win for them. That's the ultimate automotive cuckold.

>>no driver skill involved,
You try keeping a 1000hp Supra, trapping at 150+MPH, in a straight line without shitting yourself, then you can come back and say it doesn't take skill.
youtube.com/watch?v=GmuzvsPZsaI
>>who can spend the most money
Same applies to time attack. Big money=fast cars, that's the way engineering mostly works. There's some great grassroots teams out there though.
>>trailer queens x cars that rarely, if ever see the street
Go watch Drag Week.
>>mostly occupied by retarded fatass "muricans" that think pushrods are okay in a performance car
Pushrods make plenty of power. That's all you need in dragracing.
>>still get btfo by a japanese family hauler half the time
You show me a a street legal 7 second Japanese family hauler then.

>10 seconds: race car that's probably pulling the tires off of the ground
Pulling the tires only start to happen around solid 9's though. Double digits is almost becoming slow on the world of modern transmissions and turbo V8 builds. You can now buy 700hp 11 second monsters off the dealer showroom that made the Viper look tame - and both Ford and FCA are gearing up for yet another round of 750+ hp dickwaving with the Demon and GT500.

Quick-fast. OH GODDAMN, JESUS TAKE THE WHEEL in terms of sensation.

>people who know this little are allowed to post on Veeky Forums

I've seen a geo metro that did 7 at the track it beat a gtr r35 nismo in the process lol

10 seconds is still slow for 0-60 OP

underrated post

jelly

>tfw a W204 with the 2.5 V6 isn't going any faster
lads hold me

Depends what you mean by fast

15-13 is fast for a basic street car
13 is fast for a track day car
Anything under 10 is respectful anywhere.

Like any of you faggots have ever been in a car faster than 14 seconds

Tfw eurofag so i don't know what these times mean
