Saw the Dofus movie yesterday. IT WAS FUCKING BEAUTIFUL. Ankama doesn't get enough praise, they made their universe come to life in a way that very few have accomplished. The animation was gorgeous, the fights breathtaking, the comedy on-point, and even the drama was good.

If you barely know that universe, is a great starting point. Many of the cards of Krosmaga come from there.

Fly'n is such an overlooked gem. Is so beautiful AND cute. It really shows what they can do when they really focus on one game.

Speaking of, I catched someone say that Krossmaster Arena was better or even worse, the best Ankama game. Sorry mate, that game was AWFUL, easily their worst. Easily, EASILY, their ugliest game ever done. Have you seen the designs of their statues? The renditions of the heroes? I had no desire at all to collect them because of it, but more than anything else, it was because the game reeked of experiment, it screamed "I'M GOING TO BE CANCELLED", and whatdayaknow, the game is almost completely abandoned now. It failed to find a crowd, and now everyone moved to Krosmaga, that is actually doing fairly well.

Funnily enough, krosmaster found their niche in real life with the tabletop version.

Much of their comedy is physical, they have a great range of emotions, and even if some of their rhymes and language tricks are a bit lost, they make up for it with them.

I would recommend seeing the whole Dofus series first, each episode is 10 minutes long? Is pure comedy though, but yeah, trust me, is worth. Good animation and good cartoon humor. The pay-off with the movie is great, since all those tales and legends you hear on the little series, become truth, is amazing; the drama hits you harder as well, since you had time to know and love the characters for a longer time. The very first big fight is HYPE because of the series.

They really don't compare. They are sort of similar in some aspects, but in the end, they play a lot more like traditional RPGs.
