One of the greatest things I love about the Cold War is the view the USSR was the aggressor, when in reality, the USSR played a much more reactionary defensive role to the US moving it's chess pieces.

The USSR had very little ability to project power outside of it's sphere. Socialist "Satellite" states like Cuba and the African nations and even parties in the Middle East saw very little support from the Soviet Union.

Soviet Union was just as aggressive, but not with bullets and soldiers. Soviet Union attacked all western countries with active subversion, effectively conquering American universities and media without firing a single shot.

He meant it in a more broader, geopolitical sense. It's true. The later USSR spent a lot of its budget on military, and as a result other sectors were neglected. This was proven bad in the long term, but they didn't really have any choices on that matter, as the US was building more and more military power.

The USA is in the wrong for pretty much everything because of how imperialistic they were, the USSR only wanted to make things equal for everyone they were better than the USA because at least they strived to make things fair for everyone, everyone had more freedom in the USSR but did they brag about it? No! Sure maybe the USSR helped a few countries with a communist party, but that was only to help the other countries after WW2 because they were in the shitter because of Fascism and Capitalism. The USA did not try to help other countries after the war apart form themselves and they weren't even that badly attacked. Whereas as the USSR was devastated and still made an effort to help everyone else.

The USA was also very imperialstic as it invaded a very large amount of countries and started numerous wars in order to allegedly fight the red devil. the funny thing was that America lost all the wars it started such as the Vietnam war, the Korean war, the Afghanistan war and many others, all of these wars were started under the faalse pretense of helping countries stop communism, but did they help any countries stop communism? No! They just invaded those countries in order to get more influence. People in the USSR were equal, meanwhile in the USA they were all slaves to the capitalist machine.

They describe themselves as communist, if you see it as an ideology instead of an economy.

In the economic sense nobody can compete fairly with China, too much working hands, that are forced to work.

Growing life standard in China, it's extremely concentrated, you still have people who would work their backs off for a bad salary, millions of them.

And none of the restrictions of the western economies, just the internal politics of the party.

The problem of course, it's capitalist integration, the war on the middle east, it's stoping China's growth, It's blocking the silk road.

Sometimes I feel guilty that I didn't stop this conflict as soon as I could've. Seemed like a good idea when I was planning it all out, but the entire affair just got out of hand and threatened to undo the world I tried to create. I suppose it was doubly my fault. Honestly thought the world was ready for the power of the atom, but by the time the first bomb fell, I knew I'd made a mistake.

Sometimes I feel guilty that I stepped away for these past few decades, but then I remember what happened the last time I mettled.
