>his reverse is on the right

>having a reverse

how many speeds is enough?

Technically 6, scrub.

we goldwing now

What the fuck are you going to do with more gears anyway? 5 gears is plenty; standard 4-speed used since the dawn of time plus overdrive for highway empegees. You only need more if you're towing some heavy shit.

Why

>1983
>4 speeds
>4 barrels
>4 eyes
>0 fucks given

>2017
>still driving manual

>2017
>Driving stick

this triggers the burger

>Corvette C7 is manual
>Challenger Hellcat is manual
>ATS-V is manual
>Viper is manual *only*
>Shelby GT350 is manual *only*
>Camaro 1LE is manual *only*
>Focus ST/RS is manual *only*
>meanwhile almost every fast European car is manual only

Burgers buy automatic dailys because they can afford them, and then buy manual sports cars because they are fun. Yuros buy manual dailys because they can't afford automatics, and the ones who are rich enough to get a nice car get them in automatic exclusively, either because they care about stupid shit like laptimes and 0-60, or because they're just as lazy as everyone else deep down.

>4hp
>4mpg

I have a 6 speed though

>4k lbs

My car has a microscopic engine, I think having 5 speeds in the transmission is excessive...

Enjoying it so far?

>mfw i have a 4-speed shitbox from 1994
>mfw the 5-speed's top gear works out to be the exact same ratio as the 4-speed's

>mfw also have a 4-speed shitbox from 1980
>mfw the gears in the 5-speed option also work out to be the same as the 4's

That means you would benefit form that extra gear even more.

There are too many stops to comfortably drive a manual in burgerland

Yiss. Fun to row gears

If you don't have enough power to drive a higher gear then it's just there for the novelty. Pretty sure my 150hp car wouldn't benefit from a 6th gear.

im curious, to anyone that has driven the 7speed on the corvette or the Porsche, is 7 speeds to much on a manual transmission or is it not that bad? I personally feel that 7 is that absolute limit of gear in a manual car

>Mfw my 62hp car has 6 speeds.

No that's not a fucking typo, up your game user.

What are your gear ratios?

>6 speeds
>5+R

4:1 1st, direct 5th, 4.11 final drive, 13" tires
Make that fucker scream at 55 lol

Alot of people told me that when I bought my first car stick.
Years later I only own manual cars and it does not bother me in the slightest.

>stops

Dude we have highways and shit here.

Once you're in top gear it doesn't matter if it's manual or automatic, you won't have to shift for a long time.

>manual only

I mean automatic only, fuck

I wish the R8 still had a gated shifter

>Own a 5 speed
>Revs too high in 5th
>Own a 6 speed
>5th is useless
Can someone just make a car with good ratios

pff

>his 6th speed is an overdrive gear

>5 speed automatic
>+4WD
>4Hi,4Lo,2Hi
>+ Reverse
>5+4+3+1
=13

I win faggette.

Being completely serious, in about five years I was planning on buying either a C7, Cayman or 911 and ended up deciding on the Cayman simply because I don't want to deal with a retarded 7 speed

Wew that looks dated as fuck. Is that like 10 years old now?

The problem is that you can't really use 5-6-7 on most roads, and 6-7 are just for fucking gas mileage.

Plus you would only really want to drive that car in 1-5 at the most, anything over that would be dull boomer cruising at 1100RPM.

As much as I hate them, can't really avoid interstates or straight lines, especially since I'm moving to Colorado.

4lo+2hi = 2 speeds
5F+1R=6
6*2=12

12 speeds, of which about 9 are useable:

Low range 1-2-3-4-5 -shift to high range- 4-5
plus low reverse and high reverse

High-1, 2, and 3 are below the speed of low 3 so unless you want to split low2/high1-low3/high2-low4/high3-low5/high4, high 1,2,3 will be useless if starting out in low range.

Of course, low is not useable on pavement or in the higher main box gears (3 and above) unless you like broken transfer cases.

Oh wait
>automatic
lel

>10 speed auto in jeeps
>fuck that

Has anyone here had to have their 10 speed jeep transmission replaced yet? How much did it cost?

Overdrive for highway.

>le "stretched headlights and mutilated grille" is sexy meme

7th has a push down lockout though right? Not like you'll accidentally hit it instead of 5th.

...

>5 speed
>4.44 final drive

JUST

No then my transmission would be 7 speeds you knob.

1. 6.8
2. 3.47
3. 2.10
4. 1.45
5. 1.000
6. . 780
FD. 3.73
On 195/65R14s
Factory is 175/70R13

holy fuck 6.8

It's 4wd btw

Oh please m8

>Having a gearbox

EL30 Tercel?

...

Haha kek.

>no consequences to downshift 6 speed

AL20*

The 30 was FWD only derp

AL25

4x4 wagon.

I know not of an AL30

**AL31 in Eu markets, but AL30 in Australasia.

Ahh, I'm in burgerland.

I'm gonna be honest with you bro, I just made that up.

My car has a 1-speed.

Poor bastard and his CVT.
>TFW driving a proper 6 speed

>CVT

Nope. Fixed ratio.

>Fixed ratio
nice bike, hipster faggot.

Huh. What is it?

...

b-but my 1.4 8v 2002 shitbox has no speed at all
even 5 speeds are too much for it

>L
>R
So you can change gears AND your direction with your stick ?

Huehue

you missed like 5 gears

but other than that, the picture is perfect right?

>top kek
>don't remind me

Cant wait to get rid of this piece of shit and pick up muhh truck in a month or so
