Actually I've been to /b/ a few times and maybe its just my luck but i started threads with topics that would make anyone look like a retard yet people stuck to the topic of the thread (albeit with insults like "OMG U CAN"T B DIS FUCKIN DUM") and answered the question without unrelated shitposting of the exact same topic 40-50+ replies in.

There were other people on /b/ who wanted to know things like how fucked they were for not brushing their teeth in months and got fairly concerned and helpful answers without unrelated derailment.

There was another thread on /v/ that actually also tried to have a discussion about shitposting on their board and it went fairly well with people proposing legitimate ideas as to why people shitpost the way they do and so frequently (their suggestion for /v/ shitposting was trump+phone posters)

tl'dr i wouldn't say its a Veeky Forums problem just Veeky Forums combined with the fact that many people here are just too young and dumb to know much about cars on any serious/helpful level beyond what they look up on youtube (which you probably would've been better off doing (t)(b)(h))

Since everyone else is going to shitpost, it's probably a pulley bearing gone bad or someshit.

I had the same thing on my LT1 Firebird, it would increase as revs increases and it sounded just like a harmonica, I took the serpentine belt off and ran the engine and the noise went away, then I spun the pulleys individually and turns out it was the alternator, the bearing was shot on it so it started to go HMMMMMMMMMM.
