I see this as a more compact truck for the kayaker, camper, or motorcross guy that lives in the older more dense suburbs near the city. The raptor isn't really a competitor as it's simply too large. That's why the Colorado having less HP isn't really relevant. The buyer for the two are completely different and in the Colorado's intended role it doesn't hamper it in any way.

You don't really need that much horsepower to off-road.

You don't need 450HP and 510LB-FT to do rock crawling or any *serious* off roading, which the Raptor can't do because it's made for going fast over sand dunes and not much else. This would climb a mountain much faster than a Raptor could.

Most of them, at least of offroad vehicles, dont hang down in the midle of the axle shaft (between diff and wheel.) Thats not a very strong part to be one of the lowest hanging things on the truck.
