Hey lads, I posted my Italy game in the last thread, well I managed to form Rome with plenty of time to spare, and I'll have Commonwealth integrated before 1820 for Mare Nostrum too.

I just wish I could at least keep the other Italian cultures as accepted instead of getting all these meme cultures.

is there no way to change culture of a province in ck2? I conquered Sicily ages ago and its still berber, I was hoping I could make all of my holdings Italian but it just doesn't happen

It needs to be owned by a person of the culture you want to change it to and be next to a province that is already said culture. Even then the mean time to happen is based on admin score of the person and even with an admin of like 30 its still only going to happen after 20 years with worse people taking fuckin centuries. For example I conquered wales fairly quickly as a brit by the time I got bored 2 centuries later only 3 provinces had switch to my culture. Theres also a cheat that changes it.

It happens through random events, no way to do it reliably. Tribals can do it semi-reliably because one of their councillors have a 'settle tribe' mission which fires pretty often.

No. Ideally one could import new content and bugfixes from the later versions into 1.07, but it's better than the later versions. 1.12 seemed to be pretty promising with the pop growth overhaul.

The opposite, it boosts spread out of the province into surrounding ones.

If you get a province of another religion you can convert to it iirc. I could convert to Sunni/Hindu after colonizing two provinces of that religion as Tidore, so I'm sure it works just like that for Ainu, unless your government affects it.

Why don't you load the backup immediately after losing the battle? Sure it's gamey and pretty much cheating, but what the hell. You can alternatively, for a funner playthrough, get the province of Cholula in Mexico and become Nahuatl.

The provinces of Cholula, and the southernmost province of Ceylon have events that let you convert to the province's culture (Theravada and Nahuatl).

It would perhaps make your game more difficult, but it would certainly be a very fun, roleplaying playthrough.

Just imagine it, Ainu explorers discover the great cities of Mesoamerica, are fascinated by their wealth and culture and adapt their culture to theirs. Or something like that. It's not without precedent either, most conquerors end up adapting to the conquered culture (China, Normans, etc).
