E39 M5 was my dream car through high school. Could pick one up now for not that much money but I already have one BMW moneypit to take care of.

I drive a Grand Marquis (same goddamned thing) here in New England, can vouch for shitty in snow. My MGB was better in winter.
Even with snow tires, 150lbs on the rear floorboards, and 300+lbs in the trunk, it fucking SUCKS to climb even mildly snowy hills. This is it's last year though, she has 220k and the frame is getting very close to being Swiss cheese. My grandfather is going to give me his 29k mile Marauder when my Marquis dies.

I beleve the slogan for the sl600 was that it was designed to be the best car in every way except price, so they made everything work as good as they possibly could.
