i dont feel like the mastiff and mozambique actually fall into the exact same role. the mozambique isn't strictly better at everything the mastiff is supposed to do. yes, they're both projectiles and energy-based shotguns, but that's where the similarities end.
without an amped headshot, the mozambique isn't a 1HK, and the mastiff also has superior range and damage dropoff, especially if ADS. the djibouti shooti is more for spamfiring at pretty close range and filling the area immediately in front of you with plasma.
mastiff plays more like using an 870 with slug rounds in BF3, if you guys ever did that. dank one-shots at close range, and at midrange you can still ADS (sometimes at the head) for a 1HK. mastiff also loads one shell at a time, meaning it's the only shotgun you can interrupt reload to shoot. the gun feels like it was made more for extended 1vX firefights, whereas the mozambique feels like it was made for spamfire assassinations.

You can honestly go pretty fast even without being able to bhop well. As long as you can bang out one or two in a row for when the walls aren't an option, you can maintain speed pretty well if you're smart.
