What the fuck is a fair siege? Sieges were regularly resolved by standing outside until the inhabitants surrendered or died of starvation and disease. Not really, if that actually happened the Westerners would've prevailed since Mehmed sent all of his troops to attack the walls and was left with only 12,000 janissaries after every attack was repulsed.
