nothing is funnier than when people seriously call it "Constantinople" 500 hilarious years of saltiness.
To be fair, Constantinople actually wasn't fairly taken away. (((Somebody))) left a kerkaporta open for the Turks to just walk right in.
So this MS-Paint comic is rather in poor taste as it doesn't consider what would've happened if the Turks were sealed off everywhere.
>getting salty over a meme
Wouldn't expect anything more from a /pol/fag.
Explain meme
>implying I go to /pol/
Suck a dick, faggot.

>So this MS-Paint comic is rather in poor taste as it doesn't consider what would've happened if the Turks were sealed off everywhere.
Is this really a "they cheated it doesn't count" accusation? Are you suggesting that European conquests were always taken fair and square and that there wasn't any sort of underhandedness?
Also
>as it doesn't consider what would've happened if the Turks were sealed off everywhere.
What? This is basically saying "Your image about muslim conquest is in poor taste because it doesn't take into account a hypothetical scenario where there wasn't a Muslim conquest."
It doesn't consider what would've happened if the Europeans were sealed off everywhere either.
...
...
So (((((())))))) was nothing then?
86 hilarious years, actually.
You do realize it wasn't formally renamed under the Ottomans, but the republic of Turkey in 1930?
Fuck off cunt
>are you suggesting that european conquests were always taken fair and square and there wasn't any sort of underhandness?
No, I'm saying it wasn't a fair siege, if it was, the inhabitants of Constantinople at the time would've won.
>other greentext bullshit
Yeah I don't rly care for your other critical remarks.
I did not know that
I don't know what you're talking about. Proof?
>heh I don't rly care
Get the fuck off Veeky Forums, you moronic teenager
>not a fair siege
Kek this guy
>No, I'm saying it wasn't a fair siege
What the fuck is a fair siege? Sieges were regularly resolved by standing outside until the inhabitants surrendered or died of starvation and disease. The word literally stems from a Latin root word "to sit". As far as """""fair sieges""""" go "someone opened the door and then we assaulted the city" is actually pretty good.
>Yeah I don't rly care for your other critical remarks.
You misspelled "I'm retarded and I can't think of a response, mostly because my argument was really stupid."
>moronic teenager
>doesn't get my age right
I'm 20, lad, and as an adult I will not be pushed around. Take your comments back and shove them up your already hemorrhoided anus.
this is a 18+ site kiddo
You're a funny guy.
Posting superior version.
>I'm 20, lad,
That's embarrassing, I'm sorry about your learning disability anonymous.
>heh, I'm an adult
You type like a fucking 12 year old pseudo intellectual
>kek this guy
I'm just saying, if no espionage was involved and it was just a regular siege then it probably would've turned out differently.
That's all I'm saying.
Not getting salty over Constantinople or anything.

>not a fair siege
Name a "fair" siege. Name just ONE. If you're besieging a city, you aren't playing fair.
Explain this goose meme.
>no espionage
>giant ass canon destroys walls
>Turks starve the city out
>same result, just taking longer
>being this butthurt
kek this post is way too long:
Henry George was an economist from the late 1800s. When he was alive, he was regarded the third most famous American after Mark Twain and Thomas Edison.
Many famous men such as Leo Tolstoy, FDR, Churchill, Teddy Roosevelt, Sun Yat-Sen, and Albert Einstein lauded George as brilliant. His only critic was Karl Marx.
The introduction of the Secret Ballet and the game of Monopoly were both inspired by Henry George's writings and when he died well over 100,000 people came to mourn.
Yet, now he's forgotten and his most important policy proposal (The Land Value Tax) is ignored despite most prominent economists such as Milton Friedman acknowledging as the most efficient tax.
TL;DR
He's a brilliant economist who's policy proposals are not implemented despite being widely acknowledged as good
I love this 3v1, really makes me seem superior when it takes 3 people to try and counter my arguments. Cry some more kiddoes.
Canada is actually populated by geese wearing human costumes, and use a complex system of quacks to communicate
The Battle of Vitkov Hill.
Geese are cunts
>I'm just saying, if no espionage was involved and it was just a regular siege then it probably would've turned out differently.
The siege, maybe. The city wasn't keeping the Ottomans out of anywhere but its own walls by 1453 anyway.
...
dumb frogposter
even if it was you said "b-but da joos opened the gate" it wouldnt turn any other way. the blachernae walls were already breached and the turkish fleet have bypassed the golden horn chain.
hell even if the turks somehow decided to withdraw constantinople would have fallen anyway at a later time. by the time 1453 the byzantine was dying
>counter my arguments
>kiddos
I believe you dropped this.
What argument? You invented a hypothetical scenario without evidence and people called you an idiot.
Not really, if that actually happened the Westerners would've prevailed since Mehmed sent all of his troops to attack the walls and was left with only 12,000 janissaries after every attack was repulsed.
This was the final wave of Turks, after the Westerners had cut everyone down.
By this time, a kerkaporta had opened up, these 12,000 came in quite easily in full force and swamped the defenders.
So yes, it would've been quite a different scenario if it had gone the non-espionage way, my "unbiased" friend.
Mmmm Turkophile tears
>posting a literal ifunny meme frog image
We're hitting levels of newfag that shouldn't even be possible
>Hussite relief troops surprise attacked the Knights through the vineyards on the southern side of the hill on which the battle was fought. The violent attack forced the crusaders down the steep northern cliff. Panic spread among the crusaders, which made them rout the field.
>Surprise attacks
>fair
War isn't fair, the entire idea of it is using violence to get your way unilaterally. A "fair" war is one not fought at all, but if we were going to say a battle had to be waged, the only "fair" result would be if both sides were equal in numbers, equipment, etc on flat terrain.
I love that show.
>(((Somebody)))
>we're hitting levels of newfag that shouldn't even be possible
Actually there's one thing you haven't considered: my hard drive on my old computer got fried and I had to supplement myself with new memes on this computer.
I'm still an oldfag, just have replaced memes.
Also
>uses the term 'newfag' to deflect the topic we wuz chatting about
I see weakness in your ability to argue, adversary.
kek
tbqh I wish Constantinople didn't fall, but you're really bad at banter, so bad that I have the urge to mock you even though I agree with you.
...
I was only trolling you with that battle, wagon forts aren't really besieged castles.
Good, mock me then, I could give a shit. This is all fun to me anyhow.
>implying the Byzantines didn't also utilize espionage
>implying thousands of turks did not labor and die just to simply breach the walls
Do you know anything about warfare?
>I see weakness in your ability to argue, adversary.
Yes.
Just read this thread and god I hate you.

Cool, I'd heard of George and knew the Monopoly connection but assumed he was a Distributionist or proto-Keynesian. Didn't realize he was American.

How much you want to bet it was the Venetians who left the door open?
rec me some Henry George books pham
People will usually say Hitler forcing the French to capitulate in an autistic recreation of the train car in which Versailles was signed, but that's so forced that it shouldn't count.
Pure pottery is Lenin liberating Russia only for Stalin to create a state even more repressive and expansionist than the Tsarist Empire, or Hungary being on the wrong side of history in every war imaginable and always getting fucked in peace deals.
Requesting one of these with Lenin and the workers' Soviets
